This topic is losing direction because most of the contributors are posting on policy/political issues and blatantly ignore or lack the scientific or biology c basics. To be objective it is imperative to be clear on what the following terms mean
(i) Food = public knowledge
(ii) Gene = ?
(iii) Genetic engineering or genetic modification = ?

When you have info on (ii) and (iii), then you can give extensive lectures on the pro and cons of GMOs, not rhetoric of population control and uncle Sam.
History will not remember you for your IQ. It will remember you for what you did. “Genius is 1 percent inspiration, 99 percent perspiration.” Thomas Edison

Evolution implies genetic modification.

All organisms do evolve.

Therefore all organisms undergo genetic modification.

But the issue here, is that man, an organism, can modify another organism; and create new timelines, relationships, laws, in the multiverse, another organism.

Therefore genetic engineering is subject to the laws of the multiverse, and ecosystems.

All activity that is in accordance to the Laws is good.

Therefore genetic engineering is good.

The issue of Monsanto and C. having ill motives, and that governments should intervene stands on false grounds.

How can governments be against getting GMOs when there is infact, food insecurity, and interest in profit?

That there are other ways to secure food supply, and that we should avoid genetically engineered products is invalid since these alternatives are not in the market.

And the government cannot control the market. Only individual interactions can.

Therefore, our objections can only be met with a call to entrepreneurship. Let us invest in agriculture.

Why create gmo's/gm food to kill people who can already die from starvation and wars. Why kill someone with food when you can just as easily watch them starve? I thought we have already been eating it for survival? Hizi conspiracy theories, ah ah!

I have alwys opposed this GMO none-sense and I will forever oppose!

The middle class are like sheep - they follow anything that comes its way -- without subjecting to a thorough non - partisan approach.

The elite know what is going on and that is why there are now Organic markets .... I believe they will be there for a long haul ----- any other option .... you need to be licenced .. by who? .... the same eliteS?

This GMO thing is anti - God .... God works through the principle of a seed with a potential t reproduce

Kenyans .... Africans .... open your eyes

The solution to our problems are with us .... not someone else from abroad coming and telling he cares for humanity ... UPUMBAVU!
God gave me the power to make wealth ... Blessed the work of my hands & enabled be A SELF MADE BILLIONAIRE ...... TO GOD THE FATHER OF MY LORD JESUS CHRIST; BE THE GLORY NOW & FOREVER MORE!

Too much money is tied to GMO foods, and the effort to industrialize food production in Africa. Some of Africa's "best brains" have been bought with it. It can also buy Wachungaji to tell congregations that its OK to eat GMO foods.

One thing for sure is that crop diversity is going to disappear with food industrialization. Some countries like Ethiopia are trying hard with their program to preserve native seeds.

Ethiopia seed bank's novel approach to preserving diversity under threat

Anyone know if we have a seed preservation program in Kenya?

Genetic engineering is part of human progress, and we should tune ourselves into using and appreciating it.

There's a lot of work to be done with regards to the 'new world order', but we are still being held back by our inflexibility. And this will cost us dearly.

Is kuku porno not GMO?

I asked someone the same, why we flock the Kenchics, Galitos, etc to feed on chicken that are 'fully grown'. Kuku porno ni GMO, if you asked me. Si kama ya kienyeji, and many buggers will be against GMOs while ripping these kuku pornos apart.

On the same note most of the vaccines insulin and antibiotics we are using are products of gmo!Yet the pple who are aganist GM are consumers of this prosuct The debate about gm is never factual ni siasa tu. Av we ever wondered what companies like bayer will do if we were to use gm prodt that no longer need pesticides (like the case of bt cotton and maize!). These companies are the one funding the anti gm movements not coz they care about you but to protect their markets.
However point of correction the kuku porno are not gm but they may have been fed with gm prodts and growth hormones to accelerate their growth.

What to say ? Simple, it's very very bad for your health anyway if needed. So I do hope there will be always something to make it better. Our grandpas and grandmas haven't consumed that much of it anyway.

Food which do no contain all this substances will soon cost a lot more money than it actually have for that matter anyway. Are you with me here or not ? I do hope we will get back to normal village food with everything we really do about that. It must be done.
