This is unfortunate comment and I dont think it should go unchallenged.
I would want to differ with the people who are condemning a "Community" based on what "a few hooligans" did. If you peruse through many photos of what was happening, you will realize that the president was received very well in many sections. He was even captured dancing with some children. In fact when the chaos erupted, he was the one who stood up to try cool the hooligans(Clearly at that point he wasnt the target). In fact he was telling them we allow the dignitaries to talk for a minute each, then let them leave and then they can do their thing. Its unfortunate that the mood was already hostile by the time he stood up, but he was still able to give a "short" speech, sth that the governor was not even able to do.
My reasoning is based on the fact that the small group of young men could have been paid by someone. It could have been local politics working out. All you need to do for that to happen is pay a few guys here and there and it will play out. It therefore just needs ONE politicians with a few thousands to spend(probably out of one sitting allowance) to hire a few boys. This, ladies and gentlemen can happen in any part of the country. Calling the whole community names based on errors of ONE person is quite unfair and unfortunate.
Yesterday's incidence is completely different from the chaos that were witnessed during the nominations. Or when RAO was jeered at the city some time back when there was an issue of religious intolerance. Just the other day, Uhuru was in the same place when Machage was giving him an elderly advise on how he should handle RAO. Nothing like yesterday happened.
By the way, Migori is actually one of the most sympathetic to Uhunye, if the last voting pattern was anything to go by. In the whole county, Uhuru got 26,055 votes and raila Odinga got 225,645. Specifically, in Kuria West constituency in Migori County, Uhuru got 15,948 votes and Raila 13,231. In Kuria East, Uhuru got 9,192 and Raila 12,126.
Had Uhuru been jeered and chased away in so many of those stop overs that he went to, that would be a pure case of hostility towards him.
On this case, I beg to differ!!!
