I don't see any reason why I can't ride this dragon and jump off when it sets itself on fire. and with much more than 500 shares. look where the nse 20 is. glad I didn't buy during ipo that over subscription...ouch with refunds

Conventional thinkers waste time building shelters when they are unnecessary and then have no shelters when they need them the most. Socionomists do the opposite.

@NSEKenya IPO oversubscribed 6.6 times. Investors applied for 504.2m shares against 66mn shares on offer.

@NSEKenya 17,859 new shareholders to be allocated the minimum 500 shares & thereafter in multiples of 100 on prorata basis.

watching from a distance even though I just applied for the minimum 500.

Doing a quich calculation of 66 million shares against 17,000 accounts brings us to an average of 3,000 shares meaning anyone who applied for more than than should expect heavy refunds. This may be skewed as we may be having few applicants whose orders ran into millions of shares

DTB oversubscription 463%.
NSE oversubscription 663%
UAP bond oversubscription 59%
Britam oversubscription 247%

This madness of oversubscription can be brought to a close or reduced if the following rights issue are held to soak up the excess liquidity;
KENGEN rights issue to raise ksh.15bn
NBK rights issue to raise ksh.10bn
Uchumi rights issue to raise ksh.1.5bn
Overto youu treasury secretary Henry Rotich do the necessary to hasten the process

The formula of allocation is out.

Applicants will be allocated 500 shares and thereafter in multiples of 100 shares on pro rata basis rounded DOWN to the nearest 100 shares.
The AVERAGE pro rata allocation rate that HAS BEEN USED is 11.11%

This one dwarfs Safaricom's allocation which was 23% of shares applied for.

BD is at it again;

NSE share sale oversubscribed 663 per cent. According to the NSE, the level of oversubscription in the IPO is the highest in the market’s 50 year history, eclipsing that of Eveready at 900 per cent.

663/900 how?

You read about one last week who forgot shares worth Kshs. 1.2B during CMC buyout and he was saying it was a small matter now sorted out!
