The GPS system used in many cars have a mojor weakness in the antenna, almost all cars has it mounted in the front or on the rear windscreen (a small rectangular object in most cases)....nikiiba hiyo Limo that is the 1st thing I will rip off!!!! Yeah, that's the normal GPS antennae for the vehicles' navigation system. But for security tracking systems such as CarTrack etc, it's normally hidden huko ndani ndani. You may have to rip the dashboard etc to get to it. True. The only problem with GPS tracking system using terrestrial based communication mast to relay info is that when you drive the car in some disused quarry then the data will not be relayed. Portfolio: Sold You know you've made it when you get a parking space for your yatcht.

I thought such vehicles are meant to be attended to at all times for security reasons. Indiscipline in our security forces. Its not the presidents limo. It's one of those vehicles at statehouse that are used to run errands for statehouse e.g buying sukuma, ngwaci etc for the first lady from the market etc.

Thieves take the stolen vehicle to some basement parking (or thick canopy forest) where the GPS antennae can't receive the GPS signal and then try to study the vehicle's wiring system pole pole to see if it has been fitted with a tracking device.

I would have gladly stopped locked the doors and dared them to shoot. and you would have died in your ignorance. car is not bullet proof in your way of thinking. receive shots from close range and from the alleged 3 ak 47s and you are so gone. Depends on level of ballistic protection. B4 - Handgun/Pistol Protection B6 - High-power Rifle B7 - Armor-piercing Rifle Protection - B7 Multi-Shot Extra Armor-piercing Rifle Protection Those vehicles should be B7. So you will be pretty safe at close range. ..."Wewe ni mtu mdogo sana....na mwenye amekuandika pia ni mtu mdogo sana!".

I remember when Gen Ali's Landcruiser VX was carjacked when he was police commissioner and they scrambled helicopters to find it. The vehicle was located i think in Taveta on its way to TZ. Why aren't they putting similar effort for this BMW?

Might the thieves be part of THIS CARTEL that steals vehicles in Kenya and sells them in DRC? They seem to like BMWs. An armoured one would fetch a premium price in the war torn country.
