I was shocked!! to see 85%! You need to read the story again, it says 85% of the affected are adults and not 85% of the county. All the same I wonder how many they bury in a day, and I wonder what's been done to prevent infections and prolong life of the affected. Very sad.

85% is still high regardless of either it's the county or adults. It means for every ten adults eight are probably infected or affected.

The article talks about 27% prevalence which translates to approximately 3 persons for every 10. Compare that against thr national prevalence of 6%!

What is shocking to me is that for every 4 pregnancies, 1 is a positive mother. With no behavior/attitude change, these babies are more likely to turn positive too!

The sex for fish thing is mostly to blame for this high rate. Then the guys who nyemelea fishermen wives when their husbands go fishing to the lake at night.

1. The article is for August 2013 when NACC Director Alloys Orago was still in office. He has since stepped aside - Current Director is Dr .Nduku Kilonzo.

2. There was a more recent stats on these if @mawinder was genuine angeleta hiyo though homabay and migori are still leading the figures there were well documented for all the 47 counties!

3. The interpretation of the 85% is amazing for those who went to school.

4. All in all, HIV/Aids is still an issue in the area and it starts with fishing beaches and the activities therein!

Cant Understand this sex for fisss arrangement. Me thinks those ladies Just like kutwangwa. Why would they do barter trade when fishing at the lake is free of charge. or is it not? Why not Just go fish themselves, and retain their dignity. Or is it laziness?
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God..
