..''Your bus travel tickets (for refund of your travel expenses)''...

My dear, this is a scam! why on earth would they want to refund your bus fare if it's an interview??

If 6,000 people applied and fell for it,the cons would make a cool 600,000Ksh just like that! Be afraid...be very afraid!!

If in doubt, don't

If you have to ask, then it's most probably a scam

....and if you ask me, any organisation that asks people to pay for a job interview is either a scam or not worth working for!

....just like the con-estate-agents who ask you to pay a viewing fee to show you a house. Kwani nyumba ni kama wild-life that I have to pay to see it?

In our society which i can define as a *man eat man society*, desperation breeds gullibility but the problem is that there is no legal recourse. Such a situation only makes the con artists to create even suave ways of achieving their own ill motives. Make no mistake, you can be conned!!! I have been a victim and i know how it feels but i learned a lesson and moved on.

Look at this, Bernie Madoff conned the best brains in the investment world by targeting a specific niche of clientele. However, he rots in prison for the next 150 years with no possibility of parole. In Kenya, when you con people you go away Scot free and to add insult to injury you purchase a home in one of the poshest suburbs in Nairobi where you rub shoulders with the high and mighty in the society.

Another case study is this Kamukunji MP who conned people intending to buy cars.... Has anything happened to him even when he punched a journalist who was following the story???

My point is while desperation should breed CREATIVITY, in Kenya it breeds hardened con-men and recently con-women and even a larger population of gullible people who will jump into any con-trap any day. So, God help us as a nation.

@informix, halafu u'll start cursing wakenya or wazurians that u were not warned...Kenyans are smart mzea. me i was once walking on the streets of nai, aga khan walk (precise) abt 5pm towards Coop Bank Hse. Kajamaa approached me n asked me for some coins(50 bob) in the name of bus fare to Dandora.the guy was almost in tears that he was going to miss the earliest bus n fare wud definately double if it gets late for him.he was carrying some brown envelope. i figured out probably 1 of the million nairobians rushing for mats after job interview.i gladly chucked 100 bob n gave him and advised him not to be taking mats to D if he cant afford instead opt for RVR which only cost 20 bob.the jamaa almost went to his knees for a thank you.that was that. the following day, same time, same street walking into uchumi aga khan.same guy in same attires as jana carrying the same old envelope approaches me jst b4 i get in and makes the same same old stmt as yesterday.when i asked him abt wat happened the other day, jamaa realized s'thing was wrong.chucked his phone frm his pocket, put the phone in his ear as if to answer a call then vanished...
pple be ware!lest we 4get.
