And the flak I used to get when I lauded Airtel's efforts to break the monopoly by introducing cheap(er) rates for off-net calls, data and roaming.

I am not exited about this, I'ts actually an increase in price for me to 45/- this might or might not work very well for Saf, it will be like when banks introduced minimum balances of 20k in the 90s.

I hope the Equity sim card has cheaper faster data, I opened an Equity account just for that sim card....plus buying a huge bulk of stocks tomorrow. Imagine if they roled out this thin sim card to the whole of East Africa. The will capture a huge bulk of importers and exporters

they can never give out anything for free Shame on you Shame on you .. They are trying to protect the low margin trading which can have the highest churn. Those transacting more than 2500 are looking for convenience and may not care about the cost as a factor to migrate

Safcom's move a drop in the ocean trying to blind fold Wanjiku not to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Let's see Members entry into market rates and then take stock of everything.

Conventional thinkers waste time building shelters when they are unnecessary and then have no shelters when they need them the most. Socionomists do the opposite.

@Sorovi, How gullible are they?
Who said Equity won't offer the same convenience, at cheaper rates?

What sort of company would slash the charges of its main service by 67%? This after the threat of a new entrant.

It only says one thing...Safcom have been exploiting customers ever since. They read Wazua and now understand the full implications of Equity's entry into mobile money.
