Kenya has as much football talent as Germany or any other team. Our problems is :
1. Corrupt leadership (Nyamweya, hatimy et al). 2. There is no government support. 2b. A useless sports minister who accomplishes nothing 3. Misplaced misdirected priorities (see the trip to Brazil) 4. No youth development programs. 5. A government intent on fighting football teams instead of supporting them (See how KRA is harassing clubs) 6. Poor football infrastructure. 7. Football fields are being grabbed leaving young upcoming vijana with nowhere to play. 8. Inept leadership at club level.
#1 and #4 above are the most detrimental to Kenya football.

Apparently Amrouche is still the coach. Kweli Kenya kuna vituko. Amrouche still has an iron clad 5 year contract. Last year when the government gave him a 5 year contract, I lamented the fact that there is no one in the government who knows what he is doing. Uhuru should be advised by his sports minister. Unfortunately his sports minister knows nothing about sports and just sits around gaining weight. No coach should be given a 5 year contract. Hiyo ni upuuzi. Coaches should be judged and rewarded on an ongoing basis. Its possible that the 5 year contract is what emboldened Amrouche to become so belligerent to the point of fighting a referee for no valid reason. Now I dont know how that 5 year contract was worded. But Kenya government might still be on the hook to pay Amrouche even if he is not actually the stars coach. I would urge Uhuru to hire a sports minister who actually knows what he is doing. One who actually follows sports.
