Seems Rojo deal is done...according to the player....with Nani going the other way on loan...

http://www.goal.com/en/n...nited-move?ICID=HP_HN_1

I like the comments by a fan on ESPN Soccernet on this whole Utd transfer window shenanigans...

C&P:

"United need to stop putting all their eggs in one basket. I seriously hope they have back up options to this seemingly fruitless pursuit of the likes of Di Maria, Vidal, Hummels etc...I'd rather them go after the likes of guys that are said to be available and within their reach like Guarin (who is for sale), Bernard (Who Shaktar said can leave albeit on a loan), Rojo (a given), Carvalho (who has a release clause, might be expensive but sounds like a sound investment for the future), Banega (who is apparently close to Sevilla), Mussachio (the player spurs were linked to) etc...No need to always go for star players. Just get ones that fit in the system and are available."

I couldn't agree more. After I saw Chelsea's performance yesterday, albeit against Burnley, it just made the deficiencies in the Utd team look all the more glaring. Cesc seems to have transformed that team overnight. LvG yuko na kibarua.

Habari ndio hio. If Utd can hijack Arsenal's move for Khedirea then it would be a big coup since we can offer the kind of wages he gets at Madrid (200k pounds a week). We can definitely outbid on wages because of Arsenal's wage policy (I think Mesut Ozil is the highest paid at 150k pounds a week...@Taz confirm)

Di Maria and Khedira would be very expensive but would be immediate game changers which is what Man Utd needs. Then we get that highly rated Central Defender and we'll be back in business. Anything short of that na tuko mashakani...

That move by Balotelli to Liverpool, subject to AC Milan accepting a return clause for misconduct, will make Liverpool vs Man Utd games have an extra edge!

One more week of waiting...

Either way, that will be massive coup if it happens but I have a feeling Per and Ozil will convince the German to join them

@Smano ESPN source actually says he is demanding 200K which could be inclusive of the sign-on fee. Ozil is on 130K but he will also receive a hefty cheque at the end of his contract.

John Cross now claims Arsenal's move for Sami Khedira could be back on. Real Madrid have lowered Khedira's fee to £12m which means Arsenal are now in a good position to negotiate personal terms with the player.

Sky Sports Spanish football expert Guillem Balague also claims Mourinho is reluctant to enter an auction for Khedira 'cause he thinks player has a personal deal with Arsenal. Sporting Lisbon's William Carvalho is also another option but has issues with third-party ownership.

@Taz, looks like Roma have pipped Arsenal to Manolas' signature...

http://www.goal.com/en/n...as-signing?ICID=HP_HN_3

I think Utd will go for Blind, Benatia chose Bayern and he was too expensive also but proven quality

@Smano....Read somewhere that Manolas wanted confirmation from the boss that he'll be part of the starting 11 before signing maybe that's why he's decided to sign for Roma. Anyway Its being reported that Arsenal have made contact with the representatives of West Ham's Winston Reid and they are also considering Manchester City's Matija Nastasic so we are still in the market for another defender.

Sporting Lisbon's William Carvalho appears to be Wenger's top target for defensive midfield. He might also sign another striker due to Giroud's injury.

Worrying thing is there aren’t many options out there. The only promising strikers in Europe that are attainable are Cavani and Falcao(on loan) but I doubt Wenger will be willing to pay.

I'm not sure Wenger feels pressed to buy a striker - he contends that Sanchez, Joel Campbell and the returning Walcott can all fit in the gap, hehe.

Anyway, hizo ni zenu. Personally I'm not understanding why we are pursuing big name signings like Vidal with his recovering knee injury last minute yet all those William Carvalhos and others come on the cheap. Disheartening to see Bayern now become a transfer powerhouse, I didn't even know they were making a move for Alonso - I rate him very highly...
