Applause Applause cheers my broda for sharing this kind of info. I am very vigilant now. I remember once was travelling on mombasa road towards voi , going down mlima kiu past salama i noticed oncoming drivers were warning us of cops ahead by a simple hand gesture of pointing down . I decided to slow down until i reached the point where they had set up shop. to my surprise they were on the opposite hill with a zoom camera on a stand like the one surveyors use. They were taking photos of anyone going downhill crossing the yellow line and overtaking on the lane that is reserved for vehicles going uphill.
Politics is just things to keep the people divided and foolish and put your trust in men and none of them can do nothing for you...

Well, it should be 100-110 kph (max) for Kenyan highways...but dare you get to this LEGAL speed...the Cops will happily bring you to a stop, add a few kph and charge either legally or otherwise...the Naivasha radar gun area taught me...very very very well...

You are safe doing 70-80 kph...if temptation to go higher arises, weka governor...

Yes. It is within an urban area and it's the law. We just have to leave with it. Lakini this can cause stupid jams....

if those bright flashes are speed guns why are they placed at very odd locations, after traffic lights or just at the exit of a round about - I always thought they are cameras that capture the guys who jump red lights, got me worried on several occasions, I thought I would see my picture in the dailies on the list of traffic lights offenders smile

They are not cameras but are just lights to ensure the cheap chinese CCTV which do not have night vision think that it is daylight!!!!

Is it not prudent to first put up road signs with the proper speed limits? 50kph might turn out to be a death trap with a loaded semi truck behind you.


I think the best way is to install automated cameras along the highways with the correct speed limits and make payment of fines automated,maybe come up with a model similar to others e.g Dubai Traffic Fines no human interaction involved plus points deduction on your DL .

Was always under impression 50kph was meant for areas like muindi mbingu, moi avenue, etc coz of multiple junctions, pedestrians et
