It was the British govt which established the British mandate in 1919. They displaced the Palestinians in order to to make place for the Israelis. So Palestinians have been suffering for almost 100 years now.

1. Palestine originates from an Egyptian term meaning 'Peleset - sea people'; named by its earliest inhabitants - ancient Egyptians. Ancient Israelites first came 1000 years later.

2. The Roman Empire were in charge during the time of Jesus for about 400 yrs plus 300 more years in the Byzatinum - Greek speaking Eastern Roman empire.

3. When the first Arab caliphate came in 638AD, Jews had lived there for over 2000 years; the 'People of the Book' (Jews, Christians) had non-Muslim rights but had to pay tax.

4. Arabs and Jews and British fought on the same side in World War I against the Ottoman Turks Empire who sided with Germany. To obtain their allegiance, British promised to form independent states. Ottoman empire ruled Palestine for 400 years.

When the British mandate ended, the 3-state partition (Palestine, Israel, International), sanctioned by the UN General Assembly, only recognized their inhabitants and British allies who lived their anyway.

@muganda, what is your point as far as last century events are concerned? Can you fast forward to kido 1900 and forward?

@AlphDoti my point is British did not displace Palestinians to make way for Israelites. Neither did the UN General Assembly. All displacements took place afterwards as a result of war.

History is never as clear cut as people think.
a number of questions come to mind when thinking about this whole mess.
1) were the jews that went into exile in europe the only jews? i.e. were they the total set of all jews? i.e. they left no one at home?
2) where are the legendary 10 tribes of israel? coz the kindom of judah (jews) are basically benjamin and judah.
3) If 1 above is true - is it quite probable that the 'jews' that came from europe a.k.a exile are actually less jewish than the 'arabs' they found in palestine? the Jews that were assimilated may identify themselves as Arabs but could be genetically jewish. Tell me again - who are these Samaritans?

Could the 'Jews' we are considering 'Israelis' now really be beating up their Kin?

Ishmael and Isaac. Kin against kin.

Not all Jews went into exile. Only the rich and the elite. The poor, the outcasts and the collaborators remained behind. They were in fact the majority

Wachana na ile ya Ishmael na Jacob. the war in Israel is between the Kingdom of Judah and the Kingdom of Israel.

The problem is Judah has become very secular (nothing Judaism much with the current state of Israel) and Israel has become Moslem (Palestinians are now Moslem)

Palestinian might just be the former Samaritans who were actually Israeli that first formed the Northern Kingdom. decided Jerusalem is too far.
Even in the days of the book, the two houses (Israel and Judah) hated each other.

The House of Judah was scattered, The house of Israel, being more willing, would always take up the culture of their conquerors and i suspect picked up on Islam when it spread. The house of Judah on the other hand left little remnants in Palestine, was scattered all through the world and started trooping back in in the 1900's

The members of the house of Ishmael living in Israel are very calm.. wamechill. going to Al Aqsa every Friday and living in Jerusalem bila shida.

Blow me down Poundfoolish!

I had never thought of it or looked at this in this manner. You make more sense than anyone and anything out there!

Refreshing!

Indeed, after the destruction of the Northern Kingdom of Israel by the Assyrians (721 BC), led by King Sargon II Northern Israel was dispersed throughout the Assyrian empire and nothing is heard about them after that. Where did they go? They remained in the neighbourhood! They must be the current Palestinians. Heck, they could be even Shia Muslims (with their relics)!

Amos and Hosea were the prophets in the Northern Kingdom of Israel who preached against adoption of "new religions" and relics, just a random point to drive this new point of view home. This is Judah oppressing his blood brothers.

No wonder Ishmael is hardly concerned despite sharing what on the surface is the same religion and just casts passing glances those sides choosing and preferring to focus more on the caliphate - and to destroy Shia "brothers" while at it.

Stranger than fiction.

And most of these who remained behind are strong Muslim believers today!

The elitists who went to Europe are the Zionist disbelieving killers we have today!

The other remainder are the orthodox Jews who Muslims have absolutely no beef with!

Brazil and other Latin countries have cut diplomatic ties with Israel and recalled their Ambassador because of the Gaza bombing campaign. So an Israeli foreign ministry spokesman Yigal Palmor called Brazil a diplomatic dwarf and made fun of them for losing 7-1 in the world cup.

“This is an unfortunate demonstration of why Brazil, an economic and cultural giant, remains a diplomatic dwarf,” Israeli Foreign Ministry spokesman Yigal Palmor said on Thursday, the Jerusalem Post reports. “The moral relativism behind this move makes Brazil an irrelevant diplomatic partner, one who creates problems rather than contributes to solutions.”

"Israel's response is perfectly proportioned in accordance with international law," Palmor said in an interview with the Jornal Nacional TV show late Thursday. "This is not football. In football, when a game ends in a draw, you think it is proportional, but when it finishes 7-1 it's disproportionate. Sorry to say, but not so in real life and under international law."

So out of curiosity and interest I revisited the story of Joseph and his brothers. When Jacob was almost dying he said very interesting stuff about each of the brothers.

He told Judah, among other things, that "your brothers will praise you, your hand will be on the neck of your enemies, your father's sons will bow to you."

obviously the 'enemies' cannot be the Romans to whom Judah became subservient or to some German who almost exterminated them and Judah has not been on the physical ascendance over anyone other than 'Palestinians'.

his father's sons indeed bow to him. Poor Issachar! Woeful Reuben! Scattered in Gaza is Simeon and Levi!

I don't know what to say about this. Could it be just abnormality, or is it the Dajjal (anti-Christ) prophesied in Bible and Quran.
