@Wakanyugi, the war you're describing is the one without, a culmination of the one within the individual. You're talking about 'macro-politics', the result of 'micro-politics'.

Pick any person involved in killing others, is that person devoid of an internal conflict driven by deliberate intent, strategy, weaponry, violence within and against the self?

Pick the man on the street, sit him down in a quiet place. Or observe him from a far. Is that person devoid of conflict? How does he deal with the conflict? War must be.

On the other hand, the greatest general wins a war without violence. The strategy employed by the greatest general then involves himself mostly.

Sun Tzu speaks of the enlightened Taoist. War and Tao?

I think we are getting stuck on definitions again. I define War as a mass event - a collective expression of mans cruelty. What we are seeing in Israel is War. On the other hand, what we sometimes see on Wazua is not War, it is conflict...an expression of difference.

You seem to define War as an individual event and seem to equate it with conflict. I think the two are very different.

That said, I am glad you quoted Sun Tzu. My understanding of 'The Art of War' has always been exactly that; a true General is one who seeks to win without descending into the depths of human depravity.

The problem may be more than definition. The mass cruelty is also within. Many seem to be unaware of this. Check on Karl Menninger's 'Man against himself'.

Muriel, 'I think', is a cloth.

Hence even the emperor was not thinking.

Death.

Do you wish me death?
