Otieno was never going to be head of the military in whatever circumstances, Gen Opande was the finest Luo General but never made it, how could Gen Otieno hack it, no way!!! You hit the nail on the head. The successor has to be Jarabuon at all costs!!!!!! Otieno was the youngest of all the generals and had been at his post for the shortest period of time, enyewe jina zingine ni burden!!!!! The Army Commander Lieutenant General Joseph Kiptoo Kasaon is younger than him. Why was @Otieno retired when he was among the youngest Generals?
I thought you know the answer well, to enable Nganga to take over as Otieno is a Luo and this is KK alliance govt. On matters security, if I was president I would appoint people I trust to head the institutions – Period!!!! How would you rate the performance of those people he has entrusted with matters security? possunt quia posse videntur

From a National perspective very poor from his personal perspective I have no clue! The man who marries a beautiful woman, and the farmer who grows corn by the roadside have the same problem

Let us not be too quick to judge. Has Mr Otieno complained? Why are we speaking on his behalf and by the way Mr Otieno belongs to the tribe called Kenya and so is Mr. Ng'ang'a.
As Babu once put it when asked why he had appointed all his relatives, just because you come from the tribe of the holder of the house on the hill or the PM in no way should your right to be appointed be withheld.
As a kenyan, I wish Mr Otieno well in his future endeavors. There is no such tribe.Otieno is Luo and has been sacked because of his tribe.

The Tonje Rules allow the CDF position to rotate between the Army, Air Force and Navy so hakuna vile Otieno would have been CDF......btw he will turn 58 in November. When Karangi retires next year the position of CDF will most likely go to a general from the Navy.

Who knows may be he had been appointed in the first place because of his tribe! I keep asking why are this positions held by an Otieno, Kimani,Mutinda (the big tribes) why not someone from my tribe(Rendille, El molo or Turkana)

If we think the appointments are due to our security, we lie to ourselves. The Military is never audited. ni kukula bila maswali. It is awarding one closer to you to eat silently and not come back to bite you. After that question from @Maka.. nothing more to add to this discussion. As Jay Z would do.. Drop Mic *and walk away*
