Truthfully though, if there was an election, Jubilee and CORD would be courting Mombasa again. So the wise thing is to exercise leadership by addressing some of the concerns that lie with central government:
• Nelson Marwa shoot to kill order
• Insecurity in Lamu
• Land issues
• Extra judicial killings
• Alienation of the community
• Decline of Tourism in the area

Personally I have never understood why one man is so passionate that we should not have county commissioners, yet the council of governor already accepted this. What does he know that we don't

Straightforward really. County commissioners are beholden to Central government. When they work professionally, they are an asset to the country and county.

But when politics comes in, they are a Jubilee arm fighting with opposition governors. I see no issue with them per se, the genuine answer is to see if come an election, the position of Central government would shift.

If not handled well, the issues at the Coast may spiral into a dangerous dragon.

I do not agree with Joho and Omar in regared to County Commissioners.

But I agree with them that there is need and indeed lots of room for better security at the Coast.
The deaths that have continued to happen down there along with the injuries e.g the boy who had his leg amputated - are untenable.

Kenya needs LEADERSHIP.

Over to you mr. PORK!

I think we are staring at a quickily ticking time-bomb at the coast...we can continue to support Cord or Jubilee; continue to hide in the safety of our gated communities and estates in urban towns; continue to pretend that that is a problem of 'others' not us 'middle, educated, civilised - class'.

But the more we play with very fabric that holds this country together, the sooner we shall discover that there is no where to run. No where to hide.

Coastal problems must become the concern and problem of every Kenyan. We should hold the politicians accountable now. We need our Kenya back. We owe to ourselves, we owe to our children.

Hiding behind one political affliation or another cant save this country. This a problem beyond Cord/Jubilee..it existed before Cord/Jubilee but has found its maturity in the current political wilderness that Kenya finds itself.

Facts are facts. Problems are problems. We can choose to face them as a country or the problems will decimate us as tribes.

Lets put Kenya first - always. Since 99.9999999% of us are here for good.

But Raila also needs to tone down, surely kila saa ni vita na vikuwazo kwa sirkal yawa. When will 'we' as a country ever develop.
