Poor. Can do better2. Tribalism =
Poor. Can do better(Perception is key here)3. Anglo leasing=
Poor. Could have done better. I didn't agree with the payment, though I am not sure whether there was any other option. But I didn't see effort from AG just as President said. No culprit yet has been seriously called to answer.4. Corruption=
Poor. No serious action yet, even after President admitted he knew the crooks. All that was done was transfer. 5.
So far, I would give them a 5/10. Its also too early to feel the real results, thus its a bit harsh to measure them on some things. I compare with Kibaki's 1st year and the feeling is more or less the same. ie High expectations not met yet, thus perception remains they have done poorly.
I am deliberately harsh on their security part coz given the seriousness that was shown with the CORD rally, it shows that if there was enough good will we can do better even with the current resources. We only need a third of the numbers that were in Nai on that day to sort out Lamu. Security is close to my heart coz its a matter of death and life. I am yet to see a more painful thing than a family saying goodbye forever to a loved one who goes through circumstances that can be avoided.
On economy, its generally stable and that is fine for investment. Some key projects are on course Eg JKIA, Railway, roads, power etc. Their effects will be felt in three years so its still a bit early.
On achievements above, you realize I have given them "On course" rating. These are areas that are generally doing well but whose effects will only be felt once the projects/processes are finalized.
I hope Jubilee will not think they are doing better yet, there is so so much to be done. In fact, even Ruto admitted recently they have only achieved about 60% of what they promised to do.
