The tense political atmosphere, however, had no impact on the stock market, which opened to little activity but picked up in the afternoon. Equity turnover jumped 59.1 per cent driven by a buildup of foreign investor interest on large cap counters.

Foreign investors accounted for 70.2 per cent of the day’s trading compared to 33 per cent last Friday, signalling that investors expect the political heat to cool off in the near term.

We were promised brimstones by Muthama, Orengo and that angular warmonger from pee gee. We therefore kinda expected a highly charged game only to be treated to an erectile dysfunction.

In CORD, OAR won. Overall, Chupiree won! Democracy won. The other warlords lost.

Now that the CORD holiday is gone, looking forward to the next holiday. I hope Idd falls on Monday 28th July 2014.

Quote:
What Mr. Odinga is demanding isn’t dialogue. He knows that no one can agree to such warped terms. A genuine national dialogue cannot be conducted by fiat. One person cannot dictate to and threaten the entire country. Important issues of (in)security, tribalism, corruption, disunity, devolution, “electoral bias” and “amendments to the constitution” – if those are truly Raila’s concerns - can be discussed or resolved without intimidation. Raila has the right to make demands. He has the right to organise as many rallies as he wishes. However, if Raila wants to lead a revolution, he should say so and refrain from cowering under an innocent word such as dialogue.

Since Raila has declared Saba Saba to be a defining moment in his life, we must turn it into his political Waterloo by ensuring that he explodes on that day like the political fraud that he is.

It was such a huge disappointment to them...they expected riots...looting etc. That is why the forces were armed to the teeth... The rally was a huge success. It got people scared and this might as well get them thinking...
