The party seems to be over but SAB is not taking it lightly......They are headed to London high court to block EABL from divorcing TBL............The new suitor is Serengeti breweries........This can't be an ordinary move. What is in it for EABL shareholders?.

@ Njung'e

Where can I find this story, need details

I've noticed the youth in particular coming in to a workplace with a completely outsized notion of their own value and importance... just a thinly-veiled arrogance. May be the credit crunch induced recession is whats needed to remind us all about the value of hard work.... By Anonymous

@kamaa EABl owns 20% of TBL. And SABMiller owns 20% of KBL. KBL profits > TBL.
____* Serengeti is based in Northern Tanzania region (Arusha-Moshi) thus a better fit for EABL. It can be used to supply the lodges & even Mombasa. ________**Furthermore,MOST of EABL's products (incl Tusker) is sold in Northern Tanzania since this was where EABL used to market its products. ______*** Serengeti's products are also sold in Dar but not in S. Tz. EABL can give Serengeti 'heft' to expand.

SABmillers & TBL successfully managed to get an injunction (until 17th Jan 2011) stopping EABL in consummating its agreement with SBL...

what does this mean to EABL investors?

Is there a political hand in this tussle.....I hear in a level playing field...EABL would wipe the floor with SAB in TZ. But for as long as the status quo is maintained in that market,EABL shareholders will continue to long for 'maji ya mbali'.I imagine that this (Agreement)was meant for the short term(to remedy the temporary malady),EABL's long term strategy is to control the entire East African market as is currently constituted. Now that, can only be music to the ears of our local brewer's shareholders.
