75 year old woman to be given 40 lashes

I thought the story was a prank but it is not. A 75 year old woman is to be given 40 lashes because she invited 2 men (young enough to be her sons/grandsons) into her house!

Ngai!

Kwani? How many cases of Mbugua & Wambui are there? Even if there were, so what?

BTW, there is NO proof of any hanky-panky... how many time have I helped a neighbour/old woman with her shopping? It is considered POLITE.

I think this is just plain stupidity. 75 year old woman given 40 lashes?

After this story, I am 100% AGAINST kadhi courts!

@ vitu,

...lest you forget our leaders the other day in tononoka grounds in mombasa declared that the noise polution law does not apply to muslims...probably the capital punishment will not apply to them also...
...besides, the presence of a safe alone does not signify that there is money inside...

@VVS - I know I have previously keenly defended Islam but some of the Sharia laws are plain stupid.

In Saudi Arabia, a man can divorce his wife if she is alone in a room with a man who is neither her brother/father/uncle....there was a guy who divorced his wife because she was alone in a room with a male anchor on a TV programme. Define draconian.

Women are not allowed to drive in Saudi Arabia (but they plan to ease up on that law soon).

This sharia law is as if it is designed to punish the women more than men.

@djinn - Did you click on the link? Sounds crazy!

LOLest at the example you gave! Ati, coz she was 'solo' with an anchor on TV? Kwani, the cameraman doesn't count?
