Belgium, USA! has to be the match of the tournament because from now most teams will play boring football ya kuogopana.

When the ref goes an entire match virtually unnoticed then you know you have a good match.

BBI will solve it

It'a OFFICIAL: The USA goalkeeper Tim Howard made 16 saves tonight which is the most by any keeper in a WorldCup game EVER.

This WC looks to me like the goalkeepers' world cup

They have been brilliant. Ochoa, Haghighi, Rais, Enyeama, NeurApplause Applause

In football, if the keeper is the recognizable player....then you have a problem
If you stay ready, no need to get ready.

Quarter Finals!!!

France Vs Germany - Friday 7pm

Brazil Vs Colombia - Friday 11pm

Argentina Vs Belgium - Saturday 7pm

Netherlands Vs Costa Rica - Saturday 11pm

When all was said and done the regular giants scraped through and I expect the same to happen in the quarters, but boy were those knockout stages hard!!! Except for a few cases of luck most of those ties would have gone to the roll of the dice that is penalties, meaning that the gap between the big countries and the smaller ones is closing, which is good for football.

The quarters will be a close call affair also but I expect the following to progress:
Brazil (somehow they'll scrape through)
Germany ( even though France look very convincing)
Argentina ( this is the one tie I think the script will be flipped)
Netherlands ( LvG seems to have some recipe, Robben's dives notwithstanding)

So bold prediction for Semis:
Brazil vs Germany
Netherlands vs Argentina

Final: Brazil vs Netherlands.

Even Goldman Sachs revised WC predictions seem to concur...

http://www.goldmansachs....l-update-6-26-2014.html

But I strongly believe France and Belgium will flip the script. Somehow I see Colombia succumbing despite their obvious quality...Brazil are those teams that seem to get the edge as the competition progresses.

Sioni Costa Rica wakishinda Dutch. Semis hio ni kama pena....the whole of this world cup has actually been one big penalty shootout...or an episode of Game of Thrones - anyone can die! Ni hayo tu...kwa sasa

Not everything is negative about African soccer and soccerplayers.

FROM BBC,

"Algeria players donate earnings

Algeria's players will donate their prize money from reaching the last-16 of the World Cup to people in Gaza.

An extra-time defeat by Germany sent the African side home, but forward Islam Slimani confirmed the gesture he and his team-mates were making, saying "they need it more than us".
