Finally, the fellow in Masinga will no longer have to use the long circuitous routes via Embu/Thika/Kitui to access his county headquarters. How I wish Mútua would do the same on the Kangundo-Machakos road!
Life is like playing a violin solo in public and learning the instrument as one goes on.

SHOCKING: Governor Alfred Mutua’s LAUNCHED ‘super highway’ already FALLING apart one WEEK LATER!
The yellow colour dividing the two lanes of Mutua’s much hyped road has faded away. The road, as one user pointed out, is so old like it has been there all along.
This is the 33km road bitumen road build within a period of three months and which the Machakos governor Dr. Alfred Mutua billed as the fastest built highway in Africa. Well, it seems time was the main idea. How long will my road take to be built? Three months, that’s what I want.
Now a week into existence, the road looks dilapidated and tired despite the fact that less than 1000 vehicles have used it. It brings into focus the ‘hurry to develop’ without thinking and planning. |Kenya Today|

This looks like General Riek Babu himself.

kithimani road was close to the heart of mutua(read lilianne).im sure now that its done mutua will move to the old kangundo mks rd same with kangundo kathiani and kathiani masii.
impunity if you ve ever used that road before mutuas magic you will see nothing wrong in that petty blurred yellow line and few potholes in some section which can be refilled in a flash

@tycho so apart from dialoging what's the role of government where service delivery is concerned?

1. Creating synergies in research and development

2. Promotion of corporate networks and digital capital to the grassroots and globally

3. Provision and coordination of security services

4. Execution, control and maintainance of common projects

5. Diplomacy and legal representation on the global level

6. Creation and control of laws conducive for the flourishing of all citizens

7. Multicultural coexistence education and promotion

The dialogue can add to the list the limits are mutualism and power to all.

Lets focus on No.4

"Execution, control and maintainance of common projects"

Wouldn't a road be that common project? It looks like to me.

@Murchr, so far, I haven't said that the road in itself is bad or wrong. My criticism has been on method. Improve infrastructure with human capacity, especially for the poor. Neglect human capacities and roads are built in vain. Isn't this reasonable?

The people at the Ward and the great leader converse, strategize together, and execute together. Each with a very clear idea on what's going to happen on his/her balance sheet. So that the County's balance of payments can be healthy.

But borrowing, putting up infrastructure and increasing taxes without radical reforms in income is a wrong formula.

On a scale of ten I give Mutua 2 points. One for fulfilling a promise, and one for thinking progressively.
