And Daniel criticized a statue based on false premises. My governor can't and shouldn't do anything positive for me without my consent and participation. And how does an ordinary citizen give consent? Everything begins at the grassroots where we have association,groups,businesses,etc meeting the governor to table their proposals before evaluation and the start of any work. You need to 'belong' to one of these groups raising their voices to become fully engaged in the on going developments taking place. Otherwise we become critics for the fun of it.

Markets are constructed politically.
So, the people need something that can't be constructed for them.
@mkeiy, the situation is dire if a people's dictator is needed. But Africa has been full of such dictators. Wasn't Moi such a leader? Gaddafi? Why don't we have our industries flourishing?
Development and infrastructure are co-dependent, it's not that infrastructure causes development. Development is the ability of a political unit to negotiate and create markets to meet needs. So tell me, WHAT DO YOU THINK IS NEEDED BY MACHAKOS PEOPLE? If today you were a governor in Machakos, what would you do? A direct and straight answer please. Not philosophies. , you do not want @tycho to be your governor - filibusters kibao in those assembly meetings.

And I have no desire to govern slaves.

@dunkang true let the jealous people continue hating. Would they rather see him do nothing? Or they want him to implement their ideas? No, let Mutua implement his ideas. People to implement theirs in their areas of influence.
I was in that Masakuu area the last 3 days and the guy is trying!
It reminded me of a trip to Malaysia, where I had the opportunity of taking a 400km ride on a road from Kuala Lumpur to Penang. Do you know what? This road was made and maintained by one family!!! The government gives tender to people/companies. This man made the road! And now he collects money at Toll Stations for maintenance. And the road is super!!
So let "the" governor do the work. It can be a learning experience for him and everybody else. If it works, then the technology will be replicated elsewhere.

Opinions can never develop anything ..am sure if Safaricon's MJ asked for opinion while rolling out Safcon he would have been sued , blocked and even picketed against..some characters here remind me of George Orwell's Animal Farm- Moses ..the bird who never did any work. All he did was sit around telling stories - primarily of "Sugar Candy Mountain", a paradise where animals lived on after they have died.

How will 1 million tychos @obtain audience with the governor give him consent? Waah! it's hard being a leader,it's no wonder dictators are made. A leader who understands their problems and gives priority to solving them without being told is now bad? Begin by asking yourself 'what has my governor done to better my living? Where's my governor anyway.

@dunkung, can a person have hate and not know it?
@AlphDoti, why do people vote?
@wanyee, if opinion doesn't build? What does?

Back in 2012 and early 2013, several men embarked on a campaign to ask the people of Machakos to vote them in. They all sold their dreams/promises to the people and on the election day, people showed that they thought Mutua's 'promise' was more appealing. They voted him in. Now Mutua has been doing what he promised his people he will do. I wonder which other dialogue again that he should involve in. The same people talking of dialogue are the same who will bash him in about four years time saying "Look, he promised to do ABC, he didn't do any of those" SMH.
