Okay people let's focus here. When I first visited the machakos people's park, I was sold instantly to governor mutua's maendeleo chap chap. Then I started hearing murmurs. A complaint here, a grumbling there.

The wastage is the most recurring grievance. The electricity bill for the park and machakos-kyumvi road is in tens of millions. Now the rumour is that the cost of installing street lighting in the new road is kes. 200mn.
And CCTV in a village road ??? Like seriously ???

My biggest question as an outsider is ;
If mutua is so great, why are so many guys in machakos complaining.

Just visit mlolongo or machakos town. Pop into garden hotel, teatot, merchant or 680. Ask the locals about their governor and you will realize there is a serious problem with governor mutua.

When muthama started fighting mutua, only the mp for yatta was on muthama's side. Now at least four MPs are openly against him. The deputy governor is fighting him. Half of the MCAs are fighting him.

One more thing, @swenani would really love club 680 in mlolongo.

On a different note am still trying to understand the issue of wastage and mismanagement of county funds.

From my understanding, the COB have a budget coordinator and budget controller in each of the 47 counties who are supposed to approve all the budgets as well as approve all the financial reports and expenses.

If there are mismanagement and wastage of the public funds then we should fry Agnes Odhiambo

@swenani, let me just say the devil's first born daughter works there.

On serious business, I got messed up financially trying to help someone with an LPO from machakos govt. Now the soonest we are expecting payment is Aug. Which means, machakos county will spend next year's allocation to clear outstanding debts for the current FY.

Where did the funds earmarked for our LPO go ? Well, the police vehicles, the CCTV in the village e.t.c. Ati controller of budget ? In machakos mutual is everything.

Lol.. got pics of some parts of the road.

Mutua is an effing PR Guru. The road is not even finished. so the 3 months is a lie. Then the section done and painted as seen form the pics is like 4 inches thick lying on soil bila foundation.(okay.. have exaggerated a bit)but it is still substandard.

lol.. bure kabisa!!!

@harrydre, we all admire mutua as a visionary leader. He is bold and daring. And he is not just PR. The roads in athi river have been tarmacked as well. They are doing an ICU and renal unit at the machakos level 5 hospital. They are rehabilitating every dispensary in the county.

I don't care about machakos politics. I vote in either nyeri or kajiado.

But why is such a 'good' governor having so many enemies ? And do you create more enemies when you know you have skeletons in your cupboard ?

In a nutshell, outsiders love Dr. Mutua, the story on the ground is quite different.

On my LPO, you do understand why I think he needs to leave financial management to the people he hired to do that. Put differently, is there any financier who can lend you against an LPO from machakos ?
