People would have accruded the benefits of these roads many time over than waiting for the day we have thika road quality roads in their place. believe me the people using that route are happy with a substandard road today than an international quality road in 10 years. If you are truly a qualified engineer as you are wont of posturing, you would have realized the less-than-40km Eastern Bypass is a 4 Billion highway! There is no way you can begin comparing a 600m road to such. These graduates Then why the hullabaloo about @Mutua opening a "road"? This should have been something like "@Mutua has opened some rural access road to some chicken market" That is not a road by any standard, its a shame to cheat even the "learned wazuans" that a road has been made somewhere in machakos.... a fake. 1. On street lights on the entire 33km strech, that is wastage! 2. On cameras along the entire 33km stretch, that is even more laughable! 3. On the design of the road, i can't comment until i go through the entire route, which i highly doubt you did. Take note, the road in question is the C100 (from google earth). It joins the A3 (Thika-Garissa-Liboi Road) and the C97(Kyumvi-Machakos-Kitui Road). Also, this is not a new road. NO. It existed but not to TARMACKED! So, most probably, the stormwater drainage system was in place. How many murram roads do you see around you with culverts etc but not tarmacked! On the issue of road been lower than the surrounding area, that exactly proves that you are just an armchair "analyst". In road designs, there are things called, ROAD GEOMETRICS, vertical and horizontal! and involve both cuts and fills! First Class Engineering indeed! Receive with simplicity everything that happens to you.” ― Rashi

No! ...besides, the presence of a safe alone does not signify that there is money inside...

No! Potato Potaeto Tomato Tomaeto. All this noise is horrendous. How about the fact that that tarmac road has been an election promise for as long as Kenya has been independent? How about the fact that for once Machakos residents will use a road without having to pull their cars and buses from the mud when it rains? That is all the people of Machakos see. The road Mutua built for them. You sitting in Nairobi criticising that wont matter a hoot to them. Or you will take a Machakos vote to go vote him out? WHO DARES WINS

No! not sure about the figures but let's say they are correct, the alternative is to keep waiting for 5-10 years to get a road. Weka barabara.... weka tena. Government is not into 'saving' - patia local contractors kazi... tax them again and again. That is the big picture. All Mushrooms are edible! Some Mushroom are only edible ONCE!
