So now, more of same or a new approach?

Asking for a shareholder.

I think it is too early to determine that. In fact a quite impressive professional background.

He joined Kenya Airways in September 2011

So many new planes... Let's see if it translates into profits.

Looking at it as an investor:

Many Kenyans [& travellers in Africa] want low fares not comfortable flights. The approach should be pack the planes not give 'comfy' service and planes. If you want comfort buy a Premium Economy seat on the same flight!

Anyway, good luck. This is something I will look at in 2015. For now, I am staying far away...

I'm happy with the new boss, I had a nasty feeling they had brought in that former NSSF boss to be groomed to take over and that in my opinion would have been a disaster.

Change sweetens the improved results expected tomorrow. Good that mbuvi is also a director at Jambojet and will balance the two quite well. I am not too optimistic but I tend to think the loss will be reduced significantly or even better a small profit posted. Turnaround is imminent if not a must.

Plus:
Terminal 4 is in the final test stages and KQ is set to benefit big time in terms of efficiency in operations.

Like @VVS, I don't fancy airlines. But then again I cannot fail to spot those that have opportunities for growth! See u after take off..

They didn't want the CFO at all. But Mbuvi has been the guy who has been representing KQ in the many events world wide. Good pick. Lets see how he performs.

I do not see things as rosey as you do. The fundamentals do not add up.

Cash strapped and over leveraged, in a heavily capitalised industry with razor sharp margins, where competition is cut throat and government supported. Add to it a new 'rookie' captain.

Mmhh d'oh!

You should admire the optimism exuded by @Obiero and Akenyan2014...H2 was tad bit tricky, passenger numbers have not been the best...anyway kesho ni siku...

If the Board was serious, they'd have gone for a professional outsider rather than somebody Titus is obviously comfortable with.

I would like to see Jambonet become a serious player in the continent i.e. cheap no frills flight carrier...

Also, some thinking around how they can do cargo within the continent rather than to Europe...

May be shareholders ought to start by changing the board and then hire management with airline experience and I mean experience in global carriers. BA, EK, quantas, virgin or Cathay. To me make Tito the chair.

@Kausha, Do u think those global carriers are all making profits?
As for shareholders' input, seems minority shareholders are just at the mercy of gaahment and klm.

KLM is half investor half competitor - so must be watched
The Govt cannot enforce/mandate KQ travel -yet is biggest potential client.
Leaving ceo has a legacy to protect so will sugar coat everything to look o.k.
New ceo needs time for his balls to mature to make the needed industry disruptive decisions required now.

The overall investment strategy here is hope.... for divine intervention.
