d'oh! d'oh! d'oh!

ona sasa.... where did 'kyuks' come in? I just wanted to get an explanation on the 'software' aspect that looks shady to me... someone saying
Being Kao is not a calling - it's a Jet engine!!

Tell us something nice and funny about the Kikuyus please, kama haiko just say NIL.

mimi sijui....

Thanks, kindly ask @washiku kama kuna anything funny about you people.

wewe ndio unataka kujua! wewe muulize bwana! unaniuliza nimuulize kwa nini?

You can put the question better in Kikuyu language.

too bad... i cannot speak enough kyuk to save my life much less write it! kusoma ni shida!

Kwani wewe ni kikuyu born-tao?

Been away for a while so I'll start with greetings to all.
I've gone thro this thread and agree with most attributes about Luos. Very honest people, live and love communal/societal issues.
Only problem is PR, most will think they are doing you a favour (Technicians, mechanics etc) instead.
I once hired a canter in the evening when Omosh (owner) was about to close shop, I had to beg him to give me more time to load my stuff. To him, he should have closed the day's bizna and I was wasting his time ya kuenda ku-relax.

I was born and raised in town but not the city. sikuona faida ya lugha ya mama until 92 when i realised that ukiwa 'm....' utapigwa mishale. my innocence was shattered at that point - nilijaribu kujifunza nikiwa shule but it never worked out. I can hear it pretty well but the speaking bit ni kizungumkuti (I however have a trick up my sleeve. if you talk a mixture of kikuyu and english - you can pass as an educated kyuk. if you speak a mixture of kikuyu and swahili - you are seen as a mtu wa town ambaye hajui kikuyu). I can sing a couple of hymns but writing kyuk is a no-no... all those funny intonations.
