Drove one for a short way and rode as a passenger the rest of the way. Quick on the flats, struggles a bit on hills especially if you are carrying loads and passengers, drinks like a fish. Really drinks. For car hire, get a diesel. In fact, just get a diesel, period. The torque on the diesel is insane and the fuel costs will not break the bank. Do not be deceived by its lower purchase price of the petrol, if this is the case.

For car hire, go for a diesel one. You should know that already if you have been in the business.

Hired a diesel prado and would consume 6k per week for field work.

For similar conditions a petrol prado was higher by 4k.

With a petrol engine you will have several idle days.....less returns
