Hate speech versus free speech. Where is the boundary? Who measures the amount of hate in a speech. Although i understand the message of the song, proving without reasonable doubt in order to convict that it amounts to Hate speech as defined in Kibunjia Act is a tall order.

Those musicians will walk and make even more cash from the songs.

“We would like to strongly point out that if this is what certain vernacular musicians are doing, regardless of the language and community, we truly stand against it! Music in our respective languages is beautiful, but when corrupted for an agenda that disunites Kenyans, it's shameful," said Team Uhuru. "For the good of Kenya as a whole watch out for certain acts and base your votes on and NOT tribal affiliations/individuals,” said the Facebook post.

That's the only statement I've seen so far from UK's camp on the story.

Taking one to court is one thing. Proving one guilty beyond reasonable doubt is another thing all together. Ask the Nandi accused of abuse of office.

(My apologies to the sane citizens for my above sentiments but that diatribe by KenyanLyric really pissed me off.)

The Nation has a video to the effect that he has been acquitted.

What is the true status?
