Just about 4 years since i first put up this thread. The share is still crap and the only thing working for it is that it's cheaper than it was 4 years to date. That and the fact Titus Naikuni is leaving.

It's funny that still people are using "passenger numbers" as indicator of future value appreciation. Erstwhile Wazuans can verify that this assertion of passenger numbers translating into profit hasn't worked for KQ since 2006

@proverB you have been right since day 1 luckily i didnt hold any since the thread started but we are were hoping for a reversal especially after positive turn around numbers in H1 and the mawingu project + discounted sub 12 prices.
but am not understanding why the bird is refusing to fly, the share is currently getting a beating of a lifetime, are their insiders who have peeped on the books before the coming FY results for the year ending 31st mar 14.??
The travel advisories do not have an impact in the expected FY results.as i expect the impact to be felt in 2014 H1.
Lets see the results in a few days time.

At some point(jan-march) they had managed to contain all costs except staff costs. It was indicated that most cost drivers were sth in the range of 5-15 % below budget. The revenues however were below budget by about 10%-ish range. But then again their target revenue was far higher than any other year, i think sth like 150bn. Going by the last comm. I overheard they were suggesting sth like the pax. numbers could have been lower but the fares were performing well. These comments are based on operating performance briefs that do not indicate actual figures (CMA restriction). Thus turnaround is imminent either this or next FY.
Another point to note is that Jambojet seems to actually increase KQ domestic pax numbers. Y? Because this thing marketed the flying experience. Now many kenyans want to fly any airline incl. KQ.
Unfortunately this thing KQ doesn't look like a darling of kenyan investors of course incl. the airlines own mgt. Perhaps the risks associated are so high. Difficult to recommend as a buy/sell lest wazuans will see as a marketing strategist on payroll

Did you mean to say half a million shares, or the worthiness of your Kq shares?
