We are officially a country of sycophants. We have completely lost the plot. It does not help matters national cohesion and oneness when in a #mpeketoni kind of situation, all the educated masses on Facebook resort to pointing out how it is their community that is being targeted.

Insecurity by any other name is the inability of the instruments of the state to use the tools at their disposal to provide a safe environment for its populace and counter any threats, whether internal or external by all means necessary to ensure the folks are relatively living in peace

From #westgate, to #wajirattacks, #tanariverattacks, #Gikomba, #thikaroadattacks and the others, all we have seen is a system that has comprehensively failed to protect its people. Deflecting that prism to any other entity is callous and irresponsible. Let us not forget that if there are uprisings and cases of such nature, it is the inability of the state to handle and suffocate them effectively that is to blame, not the sophistry of the militia. We should be pointing our fingers at the government and not Alshabaab, CORD, MRC or some other imaginary entity.
