He was busy the whole night drawing a Red Line.

And why are you people still opposed to use of army? The police are either overwhelmed or have failed. If the use of the army have been opposed since that will mean the police have failed, well I think we are past that. Pour the damn army and save lives.Sad Sad

agreed. Since alshababa are the main suspects, and they're not civillians, give them jeshi

My first post about this matter.

The army needs, then, to be brought back from Somalia to do this well.

We actually discussed that last week but akina @Alma walisema it's a bad idea, Jeshi should remain in the barracks! How exactly are our Policemen supposed to deal rocket-propelled grenade launchers. Look at Nigeria, its the military which is leading the war against Boko Haram not some dumb policeman who doesn't even know how to handle a machine gun.

Is this the real reason there were mini bombs and no claims from Al-Shabab? To pretend that there's a security hitch then deploy the military to the streets?

This is unheard off. The jubilee gov't has accepted that they can't do security so now will use the military to do their work.

The military should only be involved in civilian duties like road and bridge construction.

Incredulous. The Westgate security operations coordination issues rearing again? Why can't the KDF Special Forces be deployed ASAP?

No senior security officials in law answer to Ole Lenku yet he "is [meant to be] in charge".

EXACTLY!!!

our police is ill-equipped to deal with the threat of terrorism. The AS gang knows this and is exploiting all security vulnerabilities.

Why can't CIC send the army?

TAZ I will never be shaken off the notion that the only reason you remove an army from the barracks is to kill people.

What makes you think they will do a better job?

Ole Nenku spent the whole day yesterday following Raila.

Then they send a GSU contigent and the same place that was attacked is attacked again. While they were sleeping?

This is a failure of leadership. PERIOD.

When the work of the NSIS is to go around bars arresting people who say Uhuru is not all that great, what makes you think that there will be better information this time?

You send the army to Mpeketoni, they will then move to Diani Beach.

The problem of poor quality leadership will not have been solved would it?

People need to be fired. That's the first thing. The only person who can take that first step is the President who's busy making movies.

Then you can start talking about armies on the streets.

@TAZ, the problem with your kind is mixing issues, in that post we were discussing deployment of KDF to man highways and do the normal police work, not to respond to terrorist attacks!!!!
