Chelsea in negotiations with Barca to sign Fabregas

This is after Arsenal informed Barcelona they will not be exercising a buy-back option on former player Cesc Fabregas. It would have been nice to have him back at the Emirates but we have too many attacking midfielders. My only issue here is why Chelsea hata afadhali Man Utd! Mourinho knows nothing about tiki-taka football, Mata was kicked out while Hazard has already raised concerns.....anyway only time will tell, the money will also be good!

fabregas ship sailed when Ozil joined the gunners.
Arsenal will get 50% of the transfer fee.Not bad business.

Only 50% of any accruing profits from the sale. Could end up being less than 1M.

Correct!!!

If that's the case then Wenger SHOULD also consider placing a bid for Fabregas......to spite Mourinho!

"If I ever wear a Chelsea shirt, you have the permission to kill me." Fabregas in 2010......He might sign for Chelsea but i wouldn't be surprised if he ends up at Bayern, PSG, Man City or even Arsenal!

In the worst case scenario, aseno would get NIL AMOUNT from the transfer. Am surprised Cesc has been paying aseno 880K p.a from his wages.

http://www.telegraph.co....eal-with-Barcelona.html

@TAZ Arseno has already passed up the opportunity to re-sign Fabregas so if they place a bid they will be be like evryone else.....Mourhino will ask to 27M so that Arseno get;s zilch!!!

Not a good deal after all if Arsenal is get 50% of the incremental value. Would hate to see Chelsea get Cesc because of the way Mourinho played dog-in-the-manger last season and blocked Demba Ba's loan move.I think Arsenal also would like to sign Lukaku but Mourinho would block the move.
Arsenal can bid for Cesc but where would he play? Arsenal has enough creative midfielders and are only lacking clinical finishers and runners. Furthermore I doubt Arsenal would match the wages offered by Chelsea.

The lad will struggle in blues and the same arsenal fans will be like thank God we didnt sign him. He is also disappointed he didnt make it back to the gunners but am sure wenger didnt want to pay so much for a player due to price wars with the other epl top teams

BArca never chased Cesc, it's Cesc who chased BArca.

Oscar was unplayable last night.Mourinho likes Matic and he does not like spanish players. Cesc could be Roman Abramovic project just like Shevchenko. Mata is actually quicker yet he was shipped off. Cesc will soon be in the market.

200k pounds per week - definitely Arsenal would not have matched that, and with all those midfielders who needs Cesc? This is the sort of player Moyes would never have been able to sign. LvG would have had a chance if we still had Cl football to offer.

I'm worried by the fact that Utd don't seem to be making any moves. Players will be VERY expensive after the WC and LvG should have provided his wish list for Ed Woodward to start trying to pull strings!!! I admire Liverpool coz the go about their biz very quietly and efficiently - they've already signed Lambert, Can and are waiting on Moreno and Lallana.

I remember when we bought Chicharito before SA 2010. Unless LvG wants to come with a host of young Dutch players, we may not get value for money after WC. Koke will definitely not come to Utd with Barca prowling and neither will Miranda. Best bet is Strootman and Roma will ask a hefty price and the player may still not be willing to join with lack of CL football. It's gonna be a looooong summer

Chelsea will now have to pay Arsenal £5m as part of the Fabregas deal.

ION, its being reported that Arsenal have made Balotelli one of their top targets, the move will apparently be funded by their new kit Sponsors (PUMA) who also represent the Italian player.

The name of that website betrays the report.

I for one wouldn't believe those reports ...many players are rumoured to join Arsenal at some point, then they don't. Still surprised how old Wenger managed to pull off the Ozil signing!

Arsenal transfer dealings are shrouded in secrecy and UK press are desperate and are linking Arsenal with more than a dozen players.
The most plausible line is that Wenger handed a list of targets to Dick Law(chief negotiator) and Gazidis and then promptly flew out to Brazil to work as a commentator.

The story looks genuine although its being reported that its a verbal agreement which will be confirmed probably after the World Cup. Its also being reported that Arsenal have made an offer for Sao Paulo’s highly rated Brazilian defender Rodrigo Caio.

Sam Khedira also appears to be another Arsenal top target!
