I don't think a world war will result from that, the russians and chinans do not have much interest in that region, worst case the americans combine forces with the israelis and you know what happens, they will chapa the militants into submission then leave and the cycle will continue.

Its not primarily about religion. Its about Israel having nukes and the brinkmanship to match. The ideology is simple; A small country surrounded by hostile neighbours with much much much more wealth, wallowing in crippling siege mentality already, plus a history of massacre to add more fuel to the fire, but alas, as a last resort, they have nuclear weapons.
Do you remember the fable of Kinjeketile Ngwale? The blessed water sprinkled on the soldiery, the incantations...still no match for the British guns. It would be the same if these ISIS miscreants moved or ganged up nations against Israel. Quoting verses is not the same as firepower.
