And shouldn't we find an opportunity here? If we are free citizens then we should be aware of how we can use this dialogue to our advantage. My advantage.

I guess that's the million dollar question. If cord have issues to articulate what is wrong with parliament/Senate? Ama is it because babu doesn't sit there anymore? Funny thing is the constitution that was passed overwhelmingly had envisaged alot of this issues and has the modus operandi.
While we may convince ourselves that having an event called ""the dialogue" its important to be clear from the beginning that cord are not pushing for this "dialogue" or whatever it is for the benefit of the common mwanainchi. Its just a clever way of keeping gullible citizens on electioneering mode 247. If anyone has noticed we have always had an election/referendum every two to three years since the "rainbow"coalition days.

Again what is this dialogue that akina tycho are convinced we need? Somebody please explain in simple language.

To dialogue or not to dialogue?

What to dialogue?

Who to dialogue?

Where to dialogue ?

How to dialogue ?

This is nothing more than an attempt to lay ground for a ‘Kenyan Spring’ ahead of 2017. We know the entire script, the cat is already out of the bag!

Kila mtu na kila mtu. Ubaya iko wapi? Ama kuna wale hawajui kuongea? Hata mtoi hafunzwi kuongea! Watu wanaeza ongea!

Hii dialogue si mbaya, si wenyewe pamoja tunaweza set agenda zote. Of course Cord, wamesema wanataka agenda flani zi chekiwe. Lakini juu all are invited hizi agenda zinaweza kumodifaiwa. Zikuwe poa na relevant.

Kuna mikate zingine bwaku bwaku hadi ukigawia mzae slice sita, na ngiai, anabaki tu amehema. Zake ni kupanguza jasho, kwani story mingi ni ya nini? Alafu mavijana wacheze game. Kwani?

Kwanza we masukuma tushabonga kweli? Ina faa tubonge. Ama hakuna common ground? Hata 'mras wa kibera' anajua 'breakfast at Tiffany's'. So unaweza try. Hahahaha!

@Siringi, dialogue is what makes us human. To refuse dialogue is to deny humanity.

'What to dialogue?' To answer this we must put the matter on historical perspective. Where is Kenya, relative to the demands of the people, and the times? From work to identity there are matters to be discussed. @Siringi, the state has gone global. What does this mean? Wanjiku has become intelligent and powerful thanks to the revolution in information and communication. How can she be given space to exercise her freedom, and flourish?

All of us must be invited to this dialogue. Ideas of simple representation are false and unhelpful when conversation is about equitable power to generate wealth, to exercise political independence to the individual level here in Kibera, needs conversation even among my friends, my neighbors, even the little children.

How? This is a multidimensional project. Like this thread, a meeting in statehouse, a wazua mbuzi, things like that.

It's a win, win.
.

Another season of domo domo and no substance, njaa blabla..... talk and more talk never gets us there either. If they have alternative solutions to the said problems that bedevil the government, they can table the same without theatrics and grandstanding. Let them present their ideas in university talks, bunge la wananchi, senate, parliament, gumzo mtaani and dialogue will have happened.

They have the power to talk but not to act...... the majority have their way while the minority have their say.

I understand what you're saying. And it's true that we need no 'theatrics'. But looking at the rally, it has political value, and a crucial one at that. The local mwananchi now knows that there's something like 'national dialogue'. Now let all conversation be visible from the top. The President gains, and what's more, there's still room for competition.

Within a short while Africa, and the African will be shining like the sun.

Africa, defines all of us. It's the nucleus of our being. It defines Kenya (and vice versa). Engaging in dialogue returns as to this beginning.

This is an opportunity worth taking.
,

@Tycho, the most important thing is reading between the lines, in this case its a crafty way of seeking relevance by some of our leaders, a forum to back track on their earlier vows to respect the outcome of the 2013 elections and move on.... Like the dialogue on the wage bill how far did it take us?? ... eh mere talk and more talk.... call dialogue on terrorism, they will talk some more.

IMHO, the ultimate responsibility lies with the gourment of the day (which is being painted as illegitimate) by the CORD brigade. Its the gourment's duty to provide security, grow the economy, fight corruption et cetra (of course with our input as well). The nitty gritty of how they get it right is open to suggestions from all and sundry. If they get it wrong, they can only be corrected or removed from office via a general election 2017. Any other way is illegal, unconstitutional and impractical.

All said and done, the CORD way of asking for space for their input on critical matters of state craft raises critical questions on their sincerity and honesty. Hence some allude that they are seeking nusu mkate, njaa imezidi!!

What will it cost you to listen? Why do you jump into conclusions before you can listen? CORD has clearly stated the issues they want addressed during the analogue, I will tell Walker this for free.......listening to attack dogs too much and carrying their burden will break the camel's back..... Uhuru can survive without paying attention to Duale and his ilk..promising one thing publicly and retracting barely after 24 hours is a bad thing for the head of state..

Propensity to lie and indicisiveness is a terrible mix for Mtembezi,..He must ride on a higher pedestal to be able manouvre myriad of challenges within institution of the presidency..[/quote]

Ati during the analogue :) :)

Is the opposition calling for a truce? This is a sign of weakness. If they invite me to this dialogue forums i would urge raila and and the young man kalonzo to run for senate seats come 2017. Or if they can't wait recall two of their nominated senators and take their seats. Today its only weta who's enjoying the warm blanket of government and his opinion counts as he can deliver it in a forum that is recognised in our constitution.
If this cold is biting after only one year, will they survive the next 20 years of jubilee?
Politics is just things to keep the people divided and foolish and put your trust in men and none of them can do nothing for you...
