The IG already has Kenyans baying for his blood. This is not the time to start putting himself on the defensive end, trying to explain things yet we all know his speaking skills are wanting and every time he explains something he leaves you more confused than you were before he spoke. A very easy solution would have been as follows:

1. Call the Jubilee and CORD leaders who were planning rallies for an "urgent" meeting at the Vigilance house(Ensure its a statement issued through a press release)

2. They may attend or they may not. If they do, tell them he has banned rallies due to "intelligence" reports indicating the rallies would be putting people in danger. He may or may not share the specifics with the leaders. If he is not willing to share, all he needs to say is that its sensitive info that is under investigation bla bla bla...

3. Ensure there is a press conference outside the vigilance house after the meeting and they should all be seen walking out of the meeting together. Inform the nation the reason of the meeting and that "I have explained to the political leaders the reason why we find it extremely dangerous to hold these rallies at this time."

The nation would be on his side. If the leaders goes ahead to call people for the rally, they would be seen as the careless type who are putting people in danger. He should then have a few people start online war against the leaders "who dont care about their people" bla bla bla...#SomeoneTellWanaSiasa would be made to trend...

I think what we need right now is a serious PR guy to manage communication and act a spin master in that security department. This guy needs to be so so smart in communication that he/she will end up convincing convincing people how safe the country is and how the security organs are on top of things? Why do I say this? Because security management is also a matter of perception. People need to feel that there is someone so much in-charge and watching...With such, the small guys who go around taking advantage of the clueless situation displayed by Kimaiyo would not dare. That would then leave the police dealing with the serious threats without being distracted by small timers.

Given decades of decay, the weapons and attackers are amidst us.

The General security advise as KDF resume offensive operations in Somalia and real solutions are sought back home by an ill equipped, ill trained and thoroughly strained security force is as much as you can: "Avoid crowded places"

CORD solution: Welcome "bash" for "Baba" for "2 million" people at an open venue at Uhuru Park.

Haiya, enda karuke ruke hurling matusi and chanting mapambano in the name of "Baba".

So as a country should we resign to fate because the police can't protect it's citizens? There is no reason for splitting hair here. Let wana CORD welcome their Baba and the rest head for celebration at Nyayo Stadium or attend to private affairs. We are one family with different beliefs system, political leanings etc, we cannot start wishing others to share our beliefs. Our difference in all aspects is what make us unique and we learn from each other.

Are the two occasions happening the same day? I thought one is on 31st and the other on 1st?

Yes they are on different days but the fottage of the two events will be available side by side on 1st June around 2PM!!!

Chubiree should just ignore the welcome ceremonies. Kwani the rally will take away their food or something? CORD is well within its rights to welcome its leaders - this is a Kenyan tradition that we extend even to visiting heads of state and returning athletes. Why is this welcome so bitter to Jubilee people? Inawahusu nini??

Laughing out loudly Laughing out loudly I couldn't get to that. But even with my D- I can convince the country better than Kimaiyo with his PHDs. Did you listen to him last night? His comm skills 101 are ZEEEEERO.

We probably do not need all that for a simple reason:

By now we all know the pattern of terrorist attacks based on the last couple of blasts, yet we citizens are giving them the arsenal and the environment for them to blow off our heads!!! How silly can we be??

The politician does not care whether your guts will be scattered all over after a terror attack. He knows far too well that he will be whisked away by his/her security personnel.

So if we know the security at the rally grounds will not be guaranteed why attend the rally in the first place???

You are forgetting CORD have been having these rallies for the last few days. In Kibera, Mlolongo, Baba Ndogo etc. How can Kimaiyo convince the nation that all of a sudden there is a bigger danger? How then does he explain lifting of the ban later on? Then later on live TV he gives a conflicting order: Rallies within the proximity of the Madaraka celebrations venues? If he needs to ban the rally for whatsoever reason, he just needs to be smart. We are now in the Information Age, kutumia akili vis-a-vis kutumia kifua. If he cant do the kind of propaganda that comes with his post now that he is saved, let him hire someone!

Segemia washikus point was simple. there was a better way to handle instead of making look like dainded fiekos.

If you ask me about logical thinking in Kenyans I'd ask you which country on this earth can elect people who are going to court.

Logical thinking is not our forte. So a better PR machine is necessary.
