They need to be smart for maximum cash benefits. The rule says you get the prize for breaking the WR each time, you can do it more than once in the same tournament. So they should break it kidogo in the preliminaries, break it again kidogo in the semis, break it again kidogo in the finals, while leaving headroom for breaking it again in the next tournament. Sergei Bubka the pole vaulter used this strategy very effectively and made a ton of cheddar.

Relaus are a great watch. I miss when kenya was doing so well in 4*400, the likes of Kitur et al.

Success to the teams.

Do the younger wazuans know that we clinched gold in the 4 x 400 at the Munich Olympics (1972)? The runners were Ouko, Sang, Asati and _____.

The first ever world relays will be this weekend. There should be some exciting races. Kenya has the potential to win 2 to 3 gold medals.

If it is the first ever, how are records being broken?

These events have been performed before. In fact Kenya set the 4 X 800m record back in 2006.

However this is the very first time that there is a tournament called "world relay championships"

That was tough. Tho the first 2 runners need some polishing up.... and we settle for 3 golds

Ezekiel Nyamau or? am not sure.
And then, its not about age, but interest. In 1972, i was minus 9 years. But i have rewatched the relays, other races and soccer matches enough times.
Great history we have sportswise.

For 800 both men and women a strong first leg where their is distance between the leader and the chasers ,and a dominant anchor is what kenya needs Where was ethiopia and russia . looks like relay events will be about kenya ,usa and jamaica
