Land will always be an issue in this country as long as

1. That Lands office is not computerised. Forget that funny thing of filing in folders. That's a joke.

2. Kenyans stop this idea that for them to be rich they have to buy land

3. Corruption in all professions from Architects to the painter.

4. When buyers like this ones stop lying low and just take someone to court. However long it takes

Not sure what they have done regarding N.o. 1, but have a look at this:

D32 that is the con game that Kenyans are played by each gov't.

The issue is not how beautiful the files now look like. The issue is finding the proper files when you need them.

For example, if you sell me a house on 98 Pawtucket Street, Lowell MA and Im here in Korogocho, I can get all the details online about who owned it, who has a mortgage on it, who has title on it, who's renting it. etc. All I have to do is logon online.

In Kenya, the powers that be can do this. But they never will.

They will tell you file iko kwa hile room. The only thing digital about it are the cameras in the place.

So I can still go in and change any data i want on those files.

That is why computerizing that lands office is the biggest political potato. All parties are involved. So they have no intention of ever doing it.

I will vote forever for the President who does it. Just doing that will make Kenya an economic powerhouse. No need for oil.

Yes, all those companies were incompetent and illegally financed this land.

That was the argument we had with a4architect. His reply was that its not his business to do due diligence for you the buyer.

So when the professionals neglect to do their duty, then you should and must claim from them. Any bank that financed this land should be sued. Any developer in the deal should be sued. Any architect in this deal should be sued.

That is what I advised then we were given long speaches with Jus Blazing.

These people are crooks. That should be the first thing in your mind when transacting land in Kenya.

The only way out is for people to really take a stand against this daylight roberry. Take everyone to court who even set foot on that land. Sue them. Sure it will take a long time, but you will win and win big.

This is a bad a scam as Anglo-leasing.

And you are right. Everyone should check their titles. I know Wilson Airport Area will be an issue.

Check your title 5 times if NSSF was ever involved in it.

But as you can see the games that you are played. Ati they moved files into a room. That lands office should be computerised yesterday. But they will never do it.

We were actually called lynch mobs. And I agree with you, whoever has a title in Nairobi should just start doing due diligence. You just never know.

sonko and uhuru have wowed me on this.im a small time investor of a humble abode.i know how it may feel to lose everything in a blink.wengine hapa ni panganga just because they may have invested elsewhere and they feel too wise.
in kenya you can be conned no matter how much careful you try to be.
as ecstacy said you have to be either very brave or aromatically stupid to invest in land in nairobi

now i see why sonko n uhuru will continue to rake in millions of votes. It doent take a rocket scientist to see that these demolitions r unfair n a waste of resources. Uhuru should go ahead n sack the CS involved .

...seriously...Is that demolition necessary? The gava has so much idle land which it can use to have their animals ride each other...They don't have to ride each other in the middle of the city. That demolition should not be allowed to happen.

By the way they were only given time to clear not that they have been allowed to stay. Why should the CS be sacked? for following up on taxpayers assets benefiting a few people? Unfortunately, if the law was to be applied the way you suggest in this thread and in previous threads, we would have chaos in Kenya. I would only need to identify idle government land and build a nice house and then the government would vacate.

Should we now okay the intended grabbing of Portland cement land in Kitengela?

I saw you suggest that JKIA should have relocated and left the guys occupying the flight path in Syokimau to stay put. If JKIA was to relocate to Konza, would we then need to relocate Tsavo after 50 years when the whole of konza has become fully occupied?

If someone sold you a GK vehicle and you were caught, would you plead that you did not know and that you have made repairs to the vehicle and that you have been using it to do business with it and there by generating employment?

If someone build on your land and latter claimed that someone sold them the land, would you surrender the land to them? Who would follow up on the seller, is it you or the other person....Only the rule of law can help. Otherwise,we would degenerate to anarchy.

I acknowledge the pain of those who bought and may be the Agriculture ministry may not need all that land but another Government ministry may need it. Why should the government throw away land and latter buy it and exorbitant prices, who will compensate the government for the land. May be the best the government can do is to ask them to buy the land at the current market price to avoid demolition

Here is the proper way to buy in land in Kenya

http://kenyanlawyer.blog...ying-land-in-kenya.html and in addition, get a surveyor who will help you with the details at the survey of kenya. That is why most people fail to go.

Why sack the CS involved? Who will compensate KEVEVAPI? Do we want a situation whereby land is grabbed and the institutions lose because it's unfair to the innocent buyers? Before you lynch me, it's sad to see people losing homes, very sad and painful. That said, Syokimau happened, Thika Road happened, bypasses happened, Runda happened. @alma puts it well. If something is illegal, then legal is the fair game.

And you do realize politicians are in it for...wait for it...politics? Numbers is their game. That's PR. When UK is gone and someone else takes over, same movie commences.
