Roasting maize in Kenya, is better than serving jail in China. Either that, or he's a Chinese spy

1. The west is not in it because it want to help you - they want to help themselves and if in the process it helps you - Hallelujah!!!!
2. The east are is not in it because it wants to help you - it want's to help itself and if in the process it helps you - Hallelujah!!!!

This world is about dominance - the west verses Russia and china. so pick your relations well coz this is not the first time it has happened. The beginning of the cold war gave us 'independence' and right now another cold economic war is taking place. As my friend wrote

Quote:
Our world is surely bidding bye to the unipolar world. We have more superpowers, strong collision of ideas, significant imbalance in trade and capital, renewed scramble for resources, increased arms trade and presence of many potential tigers - Russia, North Korea, religious purists or even the tea party! The Euro failed to replace the dollar. And since the dollar is the most conspicuous outpost of the unipolar era, we should probably be worried that the biggest deterrent to another world war is the increasingly faint memory of the last and balance of terror of the the cold war era.

remember it's real politik time regardless what you think - it's all about what is successful rather than what is 'wrong' or 'right'.

I like this Masukuma... It is indeed real politiks

China will sooner rather than later learn that western countries did not start meddling in other countries governance because they are arrogant or are dying to spread freedom and equality.

In Africa, you sign deal today and tomorrow the burger doesnt wake up (replaced by 'trusted aides') or worse he wakes up with a change in mind.

How do you dig oil wells at the shores of Vietnam if you are not sure who will be in charge of Vietnam tomorrow. It has already boiled 100degrees there.

I pose a question. and i have always asked...
With our oil, minerals & strategic position. What do you think is the furthest extent world powers will go to ensure they reap maximum benefits.
secession in Upper north rift? Kept busy in Somalia and NEP?
polite economic sanctions?

Once you know who wields power, how do you handle the situation? lets answer in context of Switzerland and other neutral countries.

How do the Swiss and other neutral counties do it?

HOTELS at the Coast are seeking alternative tourism markets following the travel advisories by the UK, US, Australia and France which led to the abrupt departure of foreign holiday makers from the region.

The new markets could save a number of hotels that face closure due to low numbers from the affected markets that are major sources of international tourists to Kenya. So far more than 700 UK tourists have been evacuated from the Coast region following travel advisories.

The move has left a majority of hotels in Kwale, Kilifi and Lamu struggling. However a number of hotels are surviving after switching attention to domestic tourism and alternative markets.

Hotels are now looking into the Scandinavian countries of Finland, Denmark, Norway and Sweden, according to tourism stakeholders.

Other markets include Asia and the East and Central African region especially the land locked countries which choose Mombasa as a holiday destination.

Whitesands Beach Hotel which is currently doing between 90-100 per cent is among the beneficiaries of alternative markets. The hotel has received a major boost from conferences and domestic tourists, according to General Manager Francis Msengeti.

Mombasa and Coast Tourism Association chairman Mohammed Hersi however dismissed reports that hotels at the Coast are being closed down as a result of the advisories.

Hersi said a number of hotels normally close down for renovation during the low season, ahead of the high season that begins in late July.

“The issue of people saying that hotels are closing down due to travel advisories is rubbish. Let people understand how the industry operates and know that all is not lost despite the travel advisories,” said Hersi.
