C&P

Hundreds of British tourists are being evacuated on chartered flights from Kenya’s coast after the Foreign Office warned them to leave because of terror threats.
Holidaymakers with Thomson and First Choice were told that their dream long-haul trips were being cut short and that they should pack and prepare to travel to the airport in convoys of coaches under armed guard. Both companies said they were cancelling flights to Mombasa until at least October.
As many as 500 people were affected, sources said. Half were due to leave on Thursday from the international airport at Mombasa, Kenya’s main coastal city. The rest were booked on a second chartered jet due to fly home on Friday.
Britain warned on Wednesday that tourists should not travel to Mombasa city or to popular beaches to its north because of the threat of terrorism, and those already there should leave immediately.

I think I was abused on another thread when I said that this gov't is killing tourism. I was told that they will face domestic tourism or something.

It is the terrorists and their sympathizers who are killing tourism. The terrorists were kidnapping tourists before KDF went into somaliya to restore order and stop the kidnappings.

jaggernaut, I beg to differ.

When we told you that something should have been done about those that looted from Westgate, you were here telling us we were blind. They were drinking water.

When we told you that the gov't should be more serious about the terrorism issue, we were given nyumba kumi, operation mulika walalo and Ole Lenku.

Now when I hear that the terrorism budget is 28 million, you have got to be kidding me.

We may be gullible kenyans but those tourists aren't.

Tell me what is a police commissioner supposed to do with a budget of 28 million. I've been against him but now I feel sorry for him.

First lady more than 100m, Kenya 28 million. You still think this is not a gov't fed problem?

Kenya has had terrorism attacks since independence. When was the last time you heard of gov't going to the extent of offering armed escort to their people to get out today?

Something is wrong.
