Barca would definitely have been affected if the ban on transfer market for 2 seasons had stood.

They'll probably be able to pay the 50m but they might have a problem dealing with the Salary and squad caps. This might also affect their transfer business this summer......

I felt sad for them. They played really well just to lose through penalties. Anyway it looks like the trophies that matter most in Europe will be shelved in Spain.

The Benfica curse from Guttman continues, he found success by winning the European cup twice in a row beating Barcelona in 1961 and Real Madrid the following year. After such success he believed he deserved a pay rise but the board could hear none of it and he left the club.
Upon leaving, Guttman allegedly declared, 'Not in a hundred years from now will Benfica ever be European champion'.
Since that day, Benfica have lost five Champions League finals and three UEFA Cup/Europa League finals with the latest being the defeat by Sevilla on last Wednesday night.
The curse even prompted Eusebio to visit Guttman's grave to pray for it to be broken, but as Sevilla fans celebrate long into the night, another year goes for Benfica without any luck in Europe.

52 years gone so 48 more years. Yesterday it was like something supernatural was preventing them from scoring. Striker gets to a very good position then slips at the last minute.Goal keeper well beaten and defender makes a goal line clearance.

Most boring European Cup final I've watched in a while. Glad it had to come to an end at some point. Worse, with the rough and largely defensive Sevilla taking it on penalties. On reaching penalties, looks like that is what Sevilla had trained for!! Excellent saves and well taken penalties.
