I have these idea to set up a posho mill for ma siblings, for it is good to teach a man how to fish than to give him fish!!! We have identified residential ares(prefarably eastlands). Whats your take skerians seeing as ugali na uji ni lazima? Anyone who knows of a good source for the raw material i.e maize,millet,sorghum...We have since identified a Muharat posho mill, any alternative?

wakandi thats a good idea given that the prices of maize flour are skyrocketing and that more and more people are appreciating the nutritional value of unga wa maganda(thats how we call it in coast)

I have also been seeking to get one to upgrade my groceries business. my greatest challenge has actually been to get the best coz there are soo many factors to consider. like ni was looking at one at a shop in msa then a guy comes and says he wants to replace his motor with an engine so that he uses diesel and not electric coz stima is eating up his profits.

Another prob is the 3 phase instalation by kplc if u are using electricity i hear it can also be costly.

I hear the electric is like maintainance free or has mimimal maintanance costs as opposed to the diesel but i just don't know.

I saw digital city advertising for one electric that does not need 3 phase and is only 50k and uses a 5hp motor.

I have since got soo confused i'm yet to make up my decision coz i don't want to buy a machine that will not give the best flour quality or that will just be a liability.

About supplies you could start with nyamakima i was buying my cereals there when i was in nrb and doing cereals busines then as you advance you can go to the farmers.

All the best na kazi ni kazi. biashara ya chakula ni poa sana watu lazima wakule wapende wasipende.

Go for it
