Granted my dear. An excess of 207,000 likes on his facebook page seem to agree with you.

However, look at the heading/title of this thread:

Fact: Larry Madowo is the best TV journalist

As the kids are want to say: As in, really?

Post Script:

Have you been across lately? As in really lately?

:)Do you mean what I think you means? No,I haven't been. You have some maoni? hehehe

Just that I miss the Ladies across.

No. Let me rephrase. I miss bullying the Ladies. Ask them to come back across. Like please.

Its about age. If you do not appreciate Madowo, you are likely old and conservative. Fact, Madowo has a big following of the young. You should also notice that the Trend has slowly moved to an entertainment show and lot's of young people follow it and they like the host. Which TV station would not like to have a programme with a big following from the young people?

The "young" are not watching tv at that time and if NTV is trying to capture this market then they should change the whole structure of news attention span ya xaxa generation haiwezi ngoja mpaka 9:40pm they have already left the sitting room and have plugged in earphone kwa masikio. May be NTV should have a xaxa news segment on GTV and leave NTV for the sober mature fellas. Otherwise Betty Kyalo and Hussein Mohamed rule the wave on Friday Night

Agreed. The young ones do not watch him at all. My teenagers have a Telly in their room and only watch the Trend when they catch me watching the top 5 section.

Sorry, I did not mean teenagers. I meant a certain age above teenagers and not too old. Of course if this topic was on a teenagers blog, the topic may well have been those kiss presenters. We may not like it but Madowo has tried to be different on the screen and by doing that earning both a following and some hatred/dislike and I guess that is why we are talking about him here.

That age group is busy clubbing on Friday and Saturday there's no time for news. They have just discovered alcohol and are fascinated by women. So try to think again are they really watching madowo? No. I once spoke to one of those bigmen in NTV and he told me that Kenyans (18-35) are not watching programmed tv anymore, they are watching sports or movies/seasons which they can easily get from maDVD guy.

Watu wameachia miss mboch tv that's why Citizen is big because after watching those Mexican soaps (Women) you are programmed to watch thier news

Go to twitter on Friday nights!!!!

What?

Larry Madowo is the "best" Television Journalist?

I acknowledge that standards can be low here in the Virtual Republic, but they CANNOT be THIS low.

Best and Madowo and television and journalist is a no, no.

My penny thoughts.

So who would you give the trophy to?

I personally don't think Larry is the best Tv journalist. I think Julie Gichuru is miles ahead. Ann Kiguta, that Lolani Kalu (or something), Hussein, Kobi and others are also up there but the concept of the 'Trend' is an outright winner and he's the best host for it.

It reminds me of what Joel Osteen says, he says he cannot compare and does not even come close to TD jakes in charisma but he doing just as well.

BBI will solve it

And therein lies the show's inherent weakness.

If, God forbid, Kiefer Sutherland were to drop dead today, the 24 television series would go into cardiac arrest if not instant death.

Churchill Show and its spin off Churchill Raw would not skip a beat if Daniel Ndambuki, God forbid, dropped dead.

... and I used to cringe every time Mr. Madowo used words to the effect that ... the show is about nothing actually....

It used to give me the impression that the show is the place to be for someone who has nothing else to do.

I understand he still uses those words.

That is a strength and not a weakness. Tv talk shows works differently. The nature of that business dictates that the characters is the show.
Which talk shows can you think of that would survive without the main characters? Oprah? Larry King? Elen? To comedy, Mr Bean, Chris Rock, Jerry Seinfeld?

It's a risk, hence the high returns, Kiefer Sutherland will bring in more money than his replacement. One of the most successful series ever, Breaking Bad was based on the main character as well.

BBI will solve it

There you go again. Exposing the show's weakness. It comes out like an ego trip for Mr. Madowo, in which regard, if he is having a bad day, the show sucks.

My daughter asked me to come watch a recent show where local drama divas were on, knowing my love for women who have an excellent command of the English language.

When it came for the "selfies" the metal eater was left out, exposing Mr. Madowo's personal weakness and hence the show's.

At one point, we loved Tisha Wanjiku but look at what happened when Shitishen gave her her own show?

Are you aware Trend was picked from someone else yet he was able to "own" it and give it a personal touch? Many predicted it will die but I think he has done well this far.

Fret not. He will not get it. Not if I have something to do about it.

And please, let us give the ... his due. It is Madowo and not Madondo.

I think hapa shida ni "generation/age".If you are between 26-35yrs...you will LOVE the Trend plus Larry. If you are older, you will keep hating. It is just the same way I hate KISS Tv shows yet your kids love them.

Has it occurred to you that several personalities who would have performed much better turned down the job.

I have heard names bandied around who rejected it such as Wallace, Ms. Kobi, Ms. Mwanyiga, Ms Smiti et al.

In my rebuttal, I beg to quote @Murchr in an earlier post on this thread. He says:

That age group is busy clubbing on Friday and Saturday there's no time for news.

They have just discovered alcohol and are fascinated by women (and men and babies).

So try to think again are they really watching madowo? No.

Further, the poster on Facebook of this Photoshop image herein below falls squarely in the age bracket you give.

In my humble opinion, it is a screaming statement on the status of Mr. Madowo's ego.

Yaani some people hate madowo so much that they had to spend hours photo shopping the piksha and clone him?
