the said agm takes place tomorrow. the incubent chairman, one wangunyu could be on his way out. ideally, there are proposals to replace him with non - players in the sector, since previously the seat was a preserve of the ceos of the investment banks and brokege firms. other senior directors, both executive and non-executive could as well bid kwaheri.

as with the madness with the stock market, this could trigger up the prices on the first two days of trading next week. a likelyhood.

but my main question is,who are the shareholders of the nse. could individual investors qualify into this coveted forum.

What good is this resignation if his relpacement will just be another thief? What NSE needs is some serious competition. Let the govt licence another burse, move all its stocks from NSE to the new burse and list all future privatisations with the new burse as well. That is the only thing that will move these thieves from stealing from retail investors, everything else is just window dressing.

They did not resign. Their term came to an end and they decided not to seek re-election.

Semasema...

Wangunyu's Niece is Raila's daughter-in-law (Fidel's wife)....but i dont think that played any role in the latest developments.

Wangunyu hasn't resigned he is retiring after the end of his tenure and will not be offering himself for re-election.

Wangunyu and co. are seriously tainted. It will take more that just retiring to gain public trust back. During their watch three stockbrokers have gone down with no hope of recovery.Whats more public confidence in the stock mart has been greatly eroded. The Bourse has lost a good fortune due to among other things poor governace and sleaze. They are in the most unenviable public positions anyone could be right now....Fare thee well Wangunyu and co.

actually ten directors opted to get out. these were both executive and non executive directors. there is new directive to incorporate non players from the brokerage and investments banks to occupying the seat. board of directors will therefore largely be 'outsiders',of which i think is a brilliant move on the right path to recovery. the resignations alone bore fruits in that most counters are on upward move today.

Now I'm 100% sure than ever before that the NSE index will ultimately touch the sub-1000 points...

Just like I suspected, replace one thief with yet another thief. What do you expect when the president is a thief and the finance minister is the son of the biggest thief of them all.
