I think one of the roles of a government is to receive blame, every government knows that - its good psychologically since it allows individuals to vent their anger and then cool off. The government deserves blame, and by that I mean the current one and the previous ones that have played part in the loopholes that are allowing the terrorists to operate. that said, it's stupid for one to blame the cops who were blown up while escorting the vehicle and the individuals they had arrested at pangani - if only they would make some time to find out the status of the families they have left behind. at the end of the day it does not hurt for one to be vigilant and report suspicious situations to the cops. I concur with your sentiments. I pay taxes like all and expect the Kenyan government to protect my right to life, health and movement as enshrined in the constitution. I also acknowledge that I have a responsibility to be my brothers keeper given we are now paying for the sins of the past. It is striking the balance that I note most posters refuse or fail to acknowledge. I agree. We don't need blame. It doesn't solve anything. We need accountability and its respective partner responsibility. You've nailed it.

this story from Israel comes to mind Disaster averted as bomb explodes on bus after passengers evacuatedQuote: “A passenger alerted the driver about a suspicious bag located behind the back door of the bus,” a spokesperson for the Dan bus company said. “The driver stopped the bus and examined the bag. He saw electrical wires attached to the bag and ordered all passengers off the bus, leaving after them. He then called police sappers.”
Comparing Israel to Kenya is absurd, but what the former have learned is vigilance - and considering that we seem to be sucked into the same here, it won't hurt if we are more vigilant. I would rather the bags left behind stories be fake, but at least take some action.

Ok just knock yourself out and make it the last 1 year, or may be your entire life. Let me guess, you got nothing You just had to politicize a matter this serious. Have you been reading my posts in full? If I get called "sycophant" for reminding Kenyans who love the blame game that security is ALSO their responsibility, let me be one even in the after life. Meanwhile, I can bet you will still be bitching silly even in the after life. The sun will rise and set regardless. @ecstacy, you are the one who cam eup with the suggestion of people taking up security roles, I challenged you to take leadership and educate us on how a private citizen can do that, effectively. Please respond, don't run and blame politics. There is no politics here, and I think based on comments here, I take the issue of insecurity more seriously than you do. Al-Shabaab never fails to claim responsibility of the attacks…yet to be heard on the Thika road attack. How many other countries’ army are in Somalia yet its only Kenya that’s getting the brunt of it…something doesn’t add up.. Meanwhile, Kenfix Odhiambo is arrested in Marurui Estate off Thika road in connection with the Thika road blasts. Compelling evidence indicates that his phone was used to detonate one of the IEDs planted in one of the buses. Odhiambo was identified by some witnesses to have been the person who jumped out of the bus just after the explosion and hiked a bodaboda motorbike. He was injured in the process. He was arrested by the Anti Terror Police Unit hiding in his house nursing wounds and never saw it fit to seek medical attention. When Odhiambo and three other people of similar origin and political affiliation are arrested in connection with the attacks, fear grips their masters….the cat might not be containable any more….plans and source of funding probably majuu may come to fore At that turn of events, baba’s assassins leaks to his brother of their intended mission! Smoke screen… There could be more than meet the eye…..We could have been chasing ghosts all along in search of ‘these’ terrorists and assuming is all coming from Al-Shabaab and people of Somali origin while in the real sense could be people hell bent to make the country ungovernable and call for an ouster ‘a tsunami’
