But unfortunately, if this corruption issue is not taken care of and he makes good on the promises he made to the under paid cops, we are looking at disaster in our hands. What Washiku has suggested about other hands being at play should also be considered. We are all citizens here. We want the best for our counntry. But I don't think most of us will take words anymore. The elections are over, he's our leader. He needs to stop corruption NOW. Or next week we have another thread about grenades. In the meantime as citizens we shall try to be as patriotic as we can. Jose: If I make it through this thug life, I'll see you one day. The Lord is the only way to stop the hurt.

"Peter Ambuka
Yesterday I went and reported at the Kasarani Police Station about a planned terrorist attack at one of our churches in Githurai 45. The best they adviced me was that they would beef up security around the said church. I tried to tell the officers that we should get hold of the person who gave me this information so that we can interrogate him further on how he got this information and all they could tell me was to come on Monday so that we can pursue this further. I guess it is already too late. If we are going to win this war against terrorism our police force needs to change tact on how they gather intelligence and how fast they act on it" These are the same police men and women @ kipchirchir wants us to report our suspicious/doubtful neighbours? Kipchirchir I don't understand when you say am responsible for security.; yes I have a part to play in security by being careful but the responsibility lies with the GOVT.Thats why we pay taxes, hold elections after every 5 years, have the police, CID, NSIS, KDF, Ole Lenku etc. If Obiero did it, Who Am I?

Quote:We have reliably established that some highly placed officials feared that JCTTF initiative would unearth their links with criminal cartels involved in drug trafficking, illegal issuance of immigration documents and piracy. On quitting the JCTTF initiative, say security experts, Kenya has had a disjointed counter-terrorism strategy. http://www.thepeople.co.ke/73435/blunder-made-kenya-target-terrorists/Terrorism and insecurity go hand in hand with corruption. That is my thesis and I will stick with it. The higher the rate of insecurity, the greater the corruption. Finally an answer to my question on why Kenya. Why can't Uhuru display leadership for once and immediately rejoin this initiative? Its our only chance to save our country!

The bad guys are obviously desperate. If you analyze all the attacks and look at their size and targets it is obvious they have been locked out from the big targets and are now going for small targets like matatus.I think the Kenya Police is doing its best under the circumstances and the citizens should work with them and encourage them because this is a battle that is hard to win and it would give any police force in the world sleepless nights. This is not to say that corruption is not a factor but it is something that has evolved over many years and corruption will take a few more years to fix. It will not disappear overnight.

For me, i'll attribute it to GRAND INCOMPETENCE brought about by mostly CORRUPTION. Receive with simplicity everything that happens to you.” ― Rashi

What can prevent a "Westgate" repeat? Nothing as far as I'm concerned!!

Good question @ kipchirchir, and where do the common citizen come in since you claim it's my responsibility? I think we should accept that we as Kenyans (president, cabinet, security forces, parliament and the citizens) have failed in security If Obiero did it, Who Am I?

That is why I said it is a hard fight to win.Think about Westgate for a minute. This guys came in took hostages and were shooting at will. They did not use explosives and what not which tells me the police or someone must have prevented them from doing that. This is also the reason am saying under the circumstances and what is available to Kenya Police on this front I rate them highly.

Conductor mwenye alifungua boot mzigo ukawekwa kwa basi bila kukagua. 3. Bus management companies for not protecting their passengers. After yesterdays attack and the other one in Nigeria, these fellas should have been proactive. Police cant be everywhere "There are only two emotions in the market, hope & fear.
