All the ideas above are brilliant but having started a business before and sort of failing I learnt one thing.Don't put down any money before you do your research.

For example the gym idea sounds great on the surface but what if you invest that much and people just don't come to you.Instead, find at least twenty people in Roysambu,ask them if they work out or if they are interested in working out.And how much they would spend per month on working out.

Same as the butchery idea.Find out how much the people in the area make on average from their salaries.Do surveys around the area and try to find out how many times a week on average people in this area can afford to eat meat.

It's not about a great idea actually,it's about if your target market can pay for whatever your business offers.And pay for it regularly for you to make a profit and grow.

Its extremely profitable with low start up capital as long as you are in a strategic position.

I used to run one in dagoretti corner but decided to sell it off since i didnt have a honest person to run it.He used to buy and sell his own stock at my expenses yet am the one who was paying rent, He could inflate the buying price or just buy bad meat.
My monthly running expenses were as below
1.Rent:8K
2.Salary:15K
3.Bad stock and shortages:15K
4.Miscellaneous (water, electricity and filing)-5K
5.My fuel( to check on the bugger):5K

I never had a freezer to store meat since i didn't see the need for it;I used to buy stock thrice per week.

The buying price per kg ranged between 230-250 depending on the days and selling price was 360.

I used to make an average sales of 30Kgs per day with monthly net profit of 50k-60K
