Who knows how it works on the revenue side? Apart from the hospitality sector, how else is the cownty benefiting?

Had a chance to visit machakos county and here are my observations.

The people's park is a sight to behold. May be the flood-lights are too many( you can't tell when dusk falls), but seating there watching the sun set overlooking the mariba dam is almost magical.

The machakos city will definately take-off. It surrounds the people's park and the road was tarmacked recently. I would buy a plot there if I had a chance.

The town is clean. Actually you don't step on soil inside machakos town. There was an international women rugby match at Kenyatta stadium.

The 14km road from kyumvi junction to machakos town has street lighting. Even I thought they were overdoing it there.

The governor is tarmacking all the roads in athi river plus the 33km makutano-mwala-kithimani road.

They are finalising a renal unit, ICU, and a diagnostic centre at machakos level 5 hospital.

Everyone asks the same question; does he get more than the others ? The answer is disturbing. My home county, nyeri, got 900mn for health sector improvement. Machakos got 182mn.

You need to visit machakos and realise leadership can actually transform people's lives.

Kudos to the governor
Conventional thinkers waste time building shelters when they are unnecessary and then have no shelters when they need them the most. Socionomists do the opposite.
