I always believed the priority in Machakos is food and water basically agriculture not formula one racetracks, film cities (hollywood), silicon valleys, small dubais e.t.c seemingly several white elephants because this is what he is promising residents rather than food and water, mzungu would call him "corky", i hope reality gives him a good jolt.

what has he done wrong?

I thought his plan is to alleviate water problems in the county by the time his term ends in 2017?

PRIORITY, priority, giving priority to wrong things, he has mentioned water and agriculture of course but his priorities are cities, formula one, 40 ambulances to rush pregnant women to hospital (a job which taxis and personal cars do very well, poverty is the problem not ambulance), buying cars rather than equipment, he should be talking of the bulk of his budget going to water and agriculture particularly in his first term, just my opinion, i mostly want to hear and read about FOOD from machakos, give me a good pointer i am wrong, i will be much obliged.

My friend was given this contract but he returned it unserviced. He was to supply them at Ksh 2 million each. This means they are secondhand.
He couldn't find an importer to do the whole order. Mutua also bought secondhand Subaru Otubacks for the county Executive.

Was there a tender or was it single sourcing? Is the gava allowed to buy mitumba cars?Mutua is busy flouting the laws on procurement as he eats and hoodwinks people who praise him.It is the same old Mutua!!!!

It was a huge document in legalese. An agreement with the condition of the vehicles.
I don't know how they came to agree or meet. It actually may not be Mutua himself but the County Executive guys.

I support him though. Thinking outside the box is always welcome. He needs to factor the law though or he might land in hot soup.

Chinese investors are planning to unveil a Sh65 billion city near Nairobi with skyscrapers and infrastructure that they say will match the splendour of Dubai.

The grand plan that involves at least 100 Asian investors is being fine-tuned ahead of an anticipated visit to Kenya by Chinese Premier Li Keqiang early next month; actual construction may begin later in the year.

Go, go governor. It's better to dream the sky and fall on the clouds than no dream at all like my governor. I hear he hasn't utilized his budget from central garment yet. He has connection!

Those pebbles were not a bad Idea, they are used in most cities in the developed world, just that Nairobians could not see his vision. Another thing i notice, with many....change is detested. I guess nikuzoea shida na kuvumilia such that you see people's moves being sinister when they are out for your good. Cant be blamed tho. The environment has shaped you to think that way.

Last, Si ati kuangukia tu. Create a good business environment and you will get willing partners.

So the Shainese were looking for land around Nairobi to put up offices and bought some land from a flower farm at Athi River which happens to be in Mayakos county and now Mutua is getting all the credit? Should mutua also get credit for "attracting" all the middo class investors who are putting up their homes in syokimau?

Tha Ngavana is on Course kwanza that road for Kabaa..was looong overdue all the corners of the county should feel maendeleo chapchap..
the Chinese for a long time were looking for land to do a "chinatown" esp Kitengela ..i got inquiries from a couple of brokers a while back from a group fronted by the former VP..i guessed they feared Kajiado from the usual .."this is our community land" stupidity that is common when investors try something new in their so called native land.big plus for that is that Masaku is secure and is not the "mob" controlled Jersey-Connecticut area of Kenya. Big plus for Masaku.

It is hard to decide whether the article is true or not. Sh 65 billion is not a lot of money and definitely cannot build a city to rival Dubai.

Additionally, skyscrapers in Athi River may not be practical as developers around Sabaki and Syokimau have been restricted to low lying developments allegedly because the land stands on air routes. Is that restriction going to be lifted to favour the Chinese? If so, its yet another example that China is our new colonial master.
