If it was not for Table Mountain and the Ocean, I would place Windhoek at the top. Windhoek is a much cleaner city, but smaller.

That Nrb is better than Jhb & Pretoria, Lol!

Laughing out loudly Windhoek is no bigger than Kericho town ..is it really a city?..its very neat though...Nairobi can learn a lot from that small town

These rankings are from the point of view of a lily white mzungu who has some cash to burn and is either a tourist or an expatriate.

The factors they look at:

Geographically - Nairobi and indeed Kenya is centrally placed in Africa and most capitals are no more than 6 - 8 hours away.

Financially - being in a tough neighborhood (think war on terror), expatriates are paid up to 1.7 times their pay with benefits like free housing and schooling, etc.

Food - a lot of our food is not processed and therefore tastes better, is healthier and cheaper than in their home countries

Weather - a Mzungu once told me Nairobi is naturally air conditioned and has no weather extremes

People - the majority of Kenyans still look up to the mzungu and they get preferential treatment.

Nairobi National Park - to a mzungu seeing wild game up close is magical; something miros care less about

Time - the cost of labour is cheap so many of their households can afford a cook/chef, a housekeeper, a gardener and a security guard leaving them with a lot of time to enjoy various activities like driving to Naivasha, Mt Kenya or the Masai Mara over the weekend or eating at restaurants.

Coffee - they love our coffee and can't believe how cheap it is compared to Star Bucks in the US

Kenyans... We are so good at bashing ourselves.
We need to travel more and actually smile in relief at getting home in JKIA.
....above all, to stand.

I do bash Kenya @times but always feel relieved when the plane starts the descent but do not say when you get to JKIA ,unless things changed, you have to wait till you get home to go to the loo especially for the arrivals. Departure is OK but i think its coz its only used by people who have passed thru ile screening ya KA.
As of now, read the stories on security even in Nakuru and tell me why you should not complain.
