Take a look at this muddy road between Garissa and Wajir. ..."Wewe ni mtu mdogo sana....na mwenye amekuandika pia ni mtu mdogo sana!".

You know, the "problem" with our economy is that its too capitalistic in nature, mixed with politics. The country would rather build roads in areas where those roads will lead to more "revenue"(tax) generation. That is why most rural areas has been ignored and maginalised. NE was always a strong zone of Moi yet he left it untouched for ages. Kibaki too did little. And thus, the central govt having failed for 50 years, then we can only try a different formula and thats why I think devolution might be right.

When you concentrate good roads, electricity connections, and other services in an area - the area grows. So, to expand the revenue base, it only makes sense for the government to expand roads to places like those in the photo above. The status is Northern Kenyan is more than a county garment can handle, it calls for the whole nation to look at itself, by the way the Wajir-Mandera one is even worse!!!! ..."Wewe ni mtu mdogo sana....na mwenye amekuandika pia ni mtu mdogo sana!".

The road from Lodwar-Lokitaung-Todonyang-Kibish in Turkana are in a worst state. You basically hav eto find your own path to drive on.If it rains when you are in kibish or todonyang you cant drive;you have to wait for the rainy season to end. The funny/sad/happy thing is that if it rains heavily in kibish or todonyang and you are in a hurry to leave, Then you can drive to addis and fly from addis to NairobiThe roads and fish on ethiopian side is a total contradiction of the kenyan side If Obiero did it, Who Am I?

I was being told about some key roads that were earmarked for tarmacking in Isiolo county during Kibaki's tenure. The area leaders refused saying that will open up the area to prostitution and other vices. Lord, thank you!
