The retaliation will be crushing. History will remember this as the day Russia lost its status as a world economic and political giant self determination is what made the US what it is today! people need to let others determine their fate. Allow Georgia, Allow Chechnya allow Cremia and even 'mambasani'. Kama watu hawataki kukaa na nyinyi hawataki! Anyway - who says history ends today or next year or in 100 years? we are so limited in our view Seriously, what are you talking about. If T.Z decide that coast should have a referendum to be part of T.Z it would be ok. Get a brain. This Masukuma must be smoking weed. Uganda has Kaleos, if Museveni starts mistreating them can Kenya enter U.G to save them. Imagine later a province in U.G votes to be part of Kenya. People who do not understand international politics should not be quick to expose their ignorance. @Masukuma, keep off this thread from now on. who died and made you nyapara wa hii thread? mr. johnny come lately? some people think that lines drawn on pieces of paper called maps actually hold this world together! these so called nation-states are just a temporary working order - work in progress if so to speak. we are not at an optimum nor will we be in a number of years. obsession with maps and territory and lording over others and the simultaneous desire to self determine our fate will keep these boundaries moving. People should not be forced to be part of a nation-state that they are not interested in!! be it the Kurds in Iraq, Turkey, Iran or syria! be it the catalans in Spain, Texas, Qubec e.t.c. just why do we need borders anyway? Serious, why do we need borders? That is the most ridiculous question I ever heard. You need to ask for a refund from the school you went to. ha ha ha capt...don't think it so seriously. think of a world where you can move freely with no restrictions, visas etc. How cool would that be? Do you even think there would be as many as half the problems we have today? i.am.back!!!!

Do you even think there would be as many as half the problems we have today? boundaries have always been there. borders are the result of the us-vs-them situations that human beings have always had. borders in the time we are living in are used as ways of keeping people out! while some are natural (rivers, mountains e.t.c.) some like those we have in east africa are imaginary! totally imaginary! some wazunguz sat in berlin and drew them. when a german told the brits that they could not have the 3 tallest peaks in their colony - the tallest was handed over as a birthday gift! it was that casual! we are the stupid people who inherited these contraptions and perpetuated them.... ati TZ people are lazy, Kenyans are thiefs e.t.c All Mushrooms are edible! Some Mushroom are only edible ONCE!

Kasin fires shots, the MICEX rallies. Goodness. Remember Georgia 2008? "There are only two emotions in the market, hope & fear. The problem is you hope when you should fear & fear when you should hope: - Jesse Livermore .

EU & US impose more sanctions.Assets of Russians are to be frozen. Visa bans are also included. The list of affected Russians is short so far. The plan is to allow room for negotiations. If Russia does not back down, more sanctions to follow. The next major event to watch for is Russian president addressing parliament.

US/EU are not what they were a decade ago.... there would have been a problem if China/India are in this as well.... these are spin doctor prescriptions at work... the damage was done long time when Cremia parliament "requested" Moscow for protection and Moscow "went in"!! Remember as we speak 99% of Russian feel very proud of their leader and motherland at the moment... you can hardly bring down such a populations with visa sanctions and asset freezes for a few millionaires living in the west.. pole When I have money, I get rid of it quickly, lest it find a way into my heart.

Putin is spot on on this!!! Quote: "Don't believe those who try to frighten you with Russia and who scream that other regions will follow after Crimea," Putin said. "We do not want a partition of Ukraine, we do not need this."
But he added: "Our Western partners, headed by the United States, prefer not to be guided by international law in their practical policies, but by the rule of the gun."
"They have come to believe in their exceptionalism and their sense of being the chosen ones. That they can decide the destinies of the world, that it is only them who can be right."
He said he did not want to be greeted in Sevastopol, home to the Black Sea Fleet, by NATO sailors

Quote:The Ukrainian crisis began in November last year after President Viktor Yanukovych ditched an EU deal in favour of stronger ties with Russia. How it all started......... “People will believe a big lie sooner than a little one, and if you repeat it frequently enough, people will sooner or later believe it.” ― Walter C. Langer
